Even if you are a Trump supporter who hates migrants, you are probably also a person paranoid about government power. Do you really want a government where a single appointee can declare someone dead without any proof or due process, basically making them a non-person?

I feel this to my very core.

I just came across this yesterday on a flight and binged the rest of season 1 today. Chilling given what’s going on now. More people need to watch this.

Not a statesman. Just a sad old dude who only cares about staying in office. At whatever cost to this nation and citizens of his own state. #SenTillisTimeToGo

No, make America openly and proactively racist again. Racism never stopped or we wouldn’t be here.

I mean, the legal field is a growth area in this particular climate. I save my sympathy for the other federal employees facing losing their jobs.

Such a grotesque embarrassment.

Right - and important. But Sassoon’s letter is apparently also like throwing a land mine into the DOJ’s path. If filing for dismissal was as easy as finding someone unsavory enough to do it, the WH/DOJ is clearly is up to that task. She made it much harder for them to find anyone who will do this.

My understanding (I’m neither a lawyer nor do I play one on TV) is that Sassoon’s resignation letter so clearly laid out why it is not possible to ethically ask for dismissal that anyone who now does risks the possibility of eventually being disbarred.

These are top tier lawyers - they ought to be able to write! There is apparently a reason the DOJ is trying to force these people to file for the dismissal - a clear case has been laid out that makes dismissal of this case clearly unethical. Whoever files for dismissal risks being debarred.

I mean, I’d almost enjoy watching it happen, except for what it means for all the rest of us.

Yeah a little on the nose giving Jeff Bezos any $ for this title.
