By the way, I’m an Independent American, not a member of your so-called left wing.

No. I’m saying that they jumped ship when things got uncomfortable for them in the R party and that they’re likely to return to the fold as they again become uncomfortable. They chose to gaslight once, why won’t they gaslight us again.

I’m still thinking about how many active duty military, including officers, that participated in the J6 Insurrection.

I couldn’t agree more. They’ve never apologized for the horrid policies of previous Republican presidents they worked to elect or served in their administrations; they sold their souls by lying or obfuscating facts, why would we believe they’re now know the way forward.

The bigger question to me is how the military responds to such an order. People have always said the military would stand up to illegal orders; I’ve never been sure about that.

Who’s to say they’re not? We’ll see if they’re moved back out after the parade.

I’d like to think they’d feel the same way you feel, I won’t hold my breath, though. I think the majority of elected Dems would take his money in a heartbeat. They appear able to rationalize everything.

I’m sure he also proclaims himself to be “pro-life.” Is the news media covering this at all?

He’ll cave. He’s the Susan Collins of Democrats.

It won’t be anyone affiliated with legacy media, that’s for sure.

I haven’t watched cable news or Sunday morning shows since a month before the election, basically I’ve given up legacy media altogether. Loving all the independent journalism available and foreign papers. I feel much more grounded in reality getting away from the ramp-up-the-fear hype.

We make a horrendous mistake that Democrats are on the voters’ side in this battle for the soul of our country. They’re squarely on their donors’ side.

Even Marjorie Taylor Greene and Meghan McCain were able to set aside politics aside for a moment and issue statements of empathy and compassion; proving once again that Junior is an amoral asshole.

Congress needs to tell MUMP no and send him to bed without his Big Macs.

And as long as people keep watching, they’re not going to change. There are plenty of news sources besides cable news.

You know how I know you don’t have facts to back up your argument? You resort to name calling, just like MAGA. I voted for Harris even though I disagreed with her on Israel/Gaza and a few other issues, unlike “uncommitted” who were too pure to vote for her even though Trump was demonstrably worse.

In what universe? If anything, Biden moved too far left during his term and it cost us the election. The majority of the party are moderates, especially the ones who are reliable voters. It wasn’t the moderates who wouldn’t vote D because of Gaza.

If Schumer wouldn’t make him dress like an adult when on senate floor, he’s hardly got the balls to force him out of the Senate.

Isn’t government funding of NPR about 1% and 15% for PBS? It’s not an insurmountable loss and could be made up by viewer donations. This just seems like another distraction to keep the media occupied.

I’d prefer age limits on committee chair/ranking member assignments. If a district/state wants to reelect an 80+ yr. old, that’s their right. If there were age restrictions for heading up committees, most of the 80+ yr olds would leave because of the loss of personal power. Problem solved.

He’s surrounding himself with people without the balls to attempt assassination. I’m also not convinced cutting off the head of the snake changes anything; he’s just a figurehead these days.

I’d rather a billionaire with a successful track record as a governor of a Midwestern state than a coastal elite who doesn’t know how to speak to middle America.

I wouldn’t know as I haven’t watched msnbc since September 2024. I’m not sure why I should be impressed he’s good on tv, but let me know when he does a good job on the senate floor.

🤣😂🤣😂He’s making them the only protected class in this country with his Anti-DEI moves; why would he let them go into harm’s way? They did away with the draft because it killed too many white men.

I don’t think it will this time. Will POC want to be the country’s warfighters when they’re losing rights daily? Will they enlist under an administration who seems eager to start wars?

I think the majority of voters just want a functioning government that works for the people, not special interests. It’s got little to do with labels. That’s why the media manipulate right track/wrong track numbers to favor one side or the other; they don’t want you to realize we’re all unhappy.

Is the media going to force Newsom on the voters? I don’t think it works this time. We’ve seen enough of the laziness of the media, I think voters will demand more candidates in the future than their ability to cozy up to the media.

The Ds have really got to dump the consultants they’ve had since the Obama days. They really haven’t a clue what’s going on in the states not considered battlegrounds. I think they need to heavily focus on state/local elections and train new, young politicians.
comment in response to

This is why we need to crush MAGA during this administration. Eventually they will find someone intelligent as well as depraved to lead them.
comment in response to

YES! Why are the national members of the party having a hard time adopting this philosophy?
comment in response to
post
Decisions on challenging sitting Ds need to be made locally. People in deep blue areas shouldn’t decide who’s going to be the candidate in red, or even purple, areas. I hope at some point the DNC is going to develop a plan of attack involving policy issues rather than just charging up the base.
comment in response to

I’d bet there are many elected Ds who are scared shitless at having to campaign on immigration. I think it’s as bad an issue for them as it is for the Rs, basically both sides of the same coin. Until Cong. decides to solve the problem instead of keeping it as a campaign issue, there’ll be no change.
