We need a new TikTok trend called "Get Scoobied" where the first thing you do is unmask an "ICE agent" in this situation.

Journalism isn't opinions, even though the op-ed has taken over news media. The auth is an immigration specialist with experience reporting on CBP and ICE. As long as what they say is factual and accurate I've got no problem hearing ideas that may conflict with my world view. Learning is important

Knowing your rights is important, and journalists are in a good position to report on changes to rights. Why are you against that?

That's giving them too much credit, they're passing notes in class. Miller on the other hand at least had the cojones to slap Elon 😅

You had to dig up a dead guy for this article when you literally have a current auto company owner that bought an entire social media platform to preserve its antisemitic propaganda "freedom of speech" (and anti everything other marginalized group to boot). 🤦🏻♀️

Wait, so the CEO of Google can't even program his own basic homepage?
(also ironic since this use to be trivial before Google's role in killing RSS)

They investigated and the findings from the DNC was there was proof of harassment. What are you going on about? There wasn't enough proof for criminal charges, but assault and harassment are two very different things legally, though ethically both reprehensible. Either way he isn't fit for power

Everyone from Schumer to Biden to Pelosi called for his resignation. Nobody stood with him. It's just weird to blame Trump when the people holding the knife are all Dems that also has spent years attacking Trump. At least blame the DNC for what the DNC openly takes credit for.
comment in response to

What are you talking about? It was a democrat AG that investigated the claims and found him guilty of harassment.. It was the entire DNC that called on his resignation. Dude can be both hard on Trump and a sex pest at the same time, pretty common for anyone in a position of power

Voting turnout has been relatively consistent for over a century. Industrialization/urbanization is more to blame for decreasing turnout than individual behavior. Time off for voting isnt well protected and low wages make it even harder.
Lack of agency compounds that but apathy is a small factor

Ibid. Why are you more focused on powerless children's behavior than their violent criminal parents?
comment in response to

Y'all need to get over the "apathy" argument. 2024 had the third highest voter turnout since 1968 as % of voting age pop. A more accurate figure would be % voting eligible pop which makes it the second highest turnout since that was tracked starting in 1980 and only 2% below 2020.

Imagine criticizing a child for running away from home because Dad beats them and Mom burns down the neighbors' houses simply because Mom makes a good pot roast.

Plot twist, NYT has direct proof Biden was replaced by a robot and will exclusively break the story.... *after* the robot breaks down and it's announced Biden passed away.

I'm sure there are other reasons for him leaving between already getting what he wanted and pissing in the sandbox. It's just that he always has a hard exit based on this categorization (until next year of course).
Also I wouldn't trust musk to have the slightest clue about procedure and policy 😅

Putin *didn't* start the war under Trump. Crimea was Obama and the rest was postponed under Trump. The only credit to Trump was that he was unstable enough that Putin didn't know how to control his asset in the 1st term. Once started Putin isn't backing down. 2 old men yell at clouds, but with bombs

One is discreet, easily carried everyday, and purpose built to legally inflict maximum non lethal pain towards mammals, all in self defense. The other is a relatively slow acting poison designed for animals that don't even have an internal skeleton. Why is this even a debate?

These were govt officials of a regime that's turned genocide into entertainment. As embassy ofcl they have the direct mission of influencing US policy to support their genocide (not even considering that they may be intelligence officers). In a just world they would have been Hague defendants 🤷🏻♀️

They're important for some reasons, like maintaining quorum while avoiding a conflict of interest, but too often they're used to show "dissent without actually affecting outcome" which seems pretty weak.

comment in response to

It's called quorum, you don't need 100% present. More importantly three should be rules against being in Congress for decades and not stepping down immediately when diagnosed with a 15% survival rate cancer, but there are no rules on term limits

Scientific method works! Just sad parents had to "do their own research" with the health of their own children. You generally* get far better data and more ethical studies when you leave it up to actual scientists.
*Scientific community isn't perfect by a long shot, but better than randos
