Been reading and thinking about Nexus today. Drove me to seek this out and watch it again. Fun stuff. youtu.be/RCXOWYo5Cfc?...

Truly one of the best song titles...ever. Also just a banger of a song by The Cardigans. youtu.be/huobAY7gl30?...

Just saw this press release for the new Dark City releases on BD and 4K and what the hell is 'thankfully apolitical dystopia' supposed to mean in this context??🤷

Listening to some Queen while surfing on my phone and ran across a video of Godzilla roaring that auto-played on mute just as Freddie Mercury did a shouty/screamy thing in the song. Chef's kiss. Truly sublime. If I had the skills I would 100% make it a real thing I could share.

Is it me or is this cover supposed to be an homage to Yorick and Ampersand?

The lesson people infuriatingly never seem to master is that there is no creating a police state just for other people. If you create a police state with no due process for immigrants or accused criminals, then that's the system you've created for yourself.

Been in the business over 30 years and I just learned this.

Today is the birthday of artist & writer Bert Christman (May 31, 1915-Jan. 23, 1942), most known for cocreating the Sandman (Wesley Dodds). In WWII, he served with the American Volunteer Group that later became known as the Flying Tigers & was killed in action in 1942.

Reggie Watts addresses Thom Yorke’s statement on Palestine and it’s good

Looking at the colour correction on Dial of Destiny compared to the more natural look and lighting of the same scenes in the making-of material on the Blu-ray, I have to say that they should have stuck with the more natural lighting. It looks great and less fake. Slocombe's films always looked...1/2

Been going down a Young Indy rabbit hole and went to Indyfan.com which used to be a go-to resource for Indy fans and ran into this quote about the Secret of the Sphinx novel which seems ironic considering where the film series went. 1/2

Shout! Factory are streaming their excellent Deep Space Nine documentary on YouTube for free. If you haven't seen it and you're a fan of the show this is a must see. Especially for the remastered sequences. They're really something. youtu.be/3u3WwFMgy5A?...

How is it that the only Indy movie on Disney+ in Canada is Dial of Destiny? How does this make any sense?

Here on Bluesky, at 11PM on a Sunday we all like to gather around the monitor and stare at Chuck Jones' original concept sketches of Marc Antony & Pussyfoot for "Feed the Kitty." For extra points, read the alt text and attempt the challenge there!

Spending the weekend at my parents where I usually have to pretend I'm not a weird nerdy guy and talk about 'normal' things for a couple days. Tonight Godzilla vs. Kong came on the TV and we're all just sort of watching it now. I feel seen.

I have to say, the number of times I've been scrolling on a dating app and run across a hunting picture with a woman cradling a dead animal and smiling gleefully is, honestly, kind of upsetting. Maybe I'm being too sensitive but I really don't think hunting pictures should be on dating profiles.🫤

Show a moment from TV/Film that broke your heart.

An unused promo piece I did for Superman's Pal Jimmy Olsen. Ideally it could have been lightly animated after it was colored so all the Jimmy parts could have some jitter and switch out with other fragments of his identities.

Does anyone know of a quality Canadian online comic book store? Looking for some recommendations.

Found this on a friend's FB post...

Today is the birthday of prolific comic book and SF writer, Gardner Fox. Fox co-created many characters for DC & was one of the alternate writers on several early Batman stories. He wrote for Catwoman a few times, including Batman No.197 (1967), where Catwoman starts catching crooks to impress Bats.

Who wouldn't 🖤 a Catwoman project from Zoe? DC Comics? Can you make this happen??🐈‍⬛

Ugh.

This is just delightful...and no spoilers, really. Just chaos and hijinks.

Picked this up while thrifting today. I do believe this completes my Puss physical media collection. I do have the short on the 2011 Blu-ray but this way I also get some cover art. There are also features but I haven't compared them to the other release so...maybe there's more stuff? We'll see.

Been listening to a number of Andor discussions & I can tell I've hit my threshold for podcaster mispronunciations when my eye starts twitching every time I hear someone say Denise Gough's name. It's pronounced Goff, not Gow. Literally said in all official media but podcasters gotta be podcasters.

Your ultimate thread for all things #Andor related 👇

Saw this on FB. I've seen THX 1138 but it's been years and I never caught this reference while watching the show. To be fair, I probably missed a lot of references and Easter eggs because I was so engrossed in the show and not playing Star Wars bingo. This is cool, though.

Holy pea soup, Batman! Tried to capture how the dense fog in the river valley this morning was swallowing up one of our bridges but I mostly got shrubbery. To be fair, I probably shouldn't have been trying to take pictures of it while driving by.

Super cool Phantom cover that doesn't feel wrong at all.

#SeparatistSmith and the UCP are having the tiiimeee of their liiives 🎶

Damn...just...Andor. Damn.

"Nearly 50 years later, we have a story that enriches the original 1977 Star Wars to unparalleled depths." With #Andor, Tony Gilroy set out to rewrite the impact of Rogue One. Instead, he changed the entire Star Wars galaxy. Read more: www.empireonline.com/movies/featu...

Mr. Kent commission

I feel like tomorrow is going to be a record day for Rogue One streaming metrics.

Reminder: Planetes is getting the hardcover Deluxe Edition treatment from Dark Horse Manga, releasing later this year. Both volumes are available to pre-order now: bit.ly/42O3ex3 By Vinland Saga creator Makoto Yukimura, translated by Yuki Johnson

I hoped they'd do it and it looks like it's coming!

After seeing the Blur doc and Wembley concert film last Thursday I went home and ordered the two albums I don't already have. The first one arrived today and I'm looking forward to blasting it on the car ride home.
