My guess is that with 24 racers spewing items and quickly changing the rankings, it’s not often as useful. Not to mention as course design has gotten much more advanced with so many split paths, it’s not always accurate.

...making all courses after after the first race be the drive to the next stage. You never get a good feel for each new track due to it. As a result, it also waters down the impact of Knockout Mode, which should have been killer!
Only half the roster get unlockable costumes, & some only get 1 or 2
