The state's surface-level smoke is elevated but doesn't look terrible at the moment--the worst is over the western reaches. The poor visibility might be because of the combination of high ozone and slightly elevated PM/smoke. Some fun maps: gispub.epa.gov/airnow/?xmin... apps.gsl.noaa.gov/smoke/

Apple and other companies use proprietary platforms to measure AQI, so that's typically why they don't align with government sources (AirNow or state readings). But in this case, Maine's air quality alert is due to ozone rather than particulate matter/smoke... www.maine.gov/tools/whatsn...

I wish Nebraska DOH said whether the child had taken one or two doses of MMR vaccine. I know the info can narrow down the child’s age, but “appropriately vaccinated” leaves some room for anti-vaxxers to slip in.
