I also think about this guy all the time. Lost as can be, took awful tragedy to pull him out of the far-right bubble

That's totally fair - i don't even know if the "changing minds" is the important part, it's more making space for people to come back from bad places when they've done the work to become more informed and thoughtful.

I get it. I've been trying to shift uninformed opinions on harm reduction for almost 20 years. It's exhausting - and there are times that I'm hopeless that anything will get better (like the present) - but I have an overwhelming faith that the truth matters and people deserve to have it. Can't stop.

I think there is a disconnect between "misinfo/disinfo is effective" and canceling people for shit beliefs. We need more people on our side and that requires the grace and forgiveness and patience for people to get to better places - canceling just further entrenches people in harmful spots

a major league pitcher could probably still throw a baby pretty fast, I don't think there'd be time to ask their religion

I wasn't comparing office hours to Ferreri's, just wanted to know if it's open.
I am legitimately confused as to why you are going after my friend here. This seems like very small potato right now and pales in comparison to what our newly elected MP's government is saying and doing.
