I oiled my garden bench today and I felt a bit like Bilbo. Though Bilbo certainly never oiled his bench himself. Sam did or Master Hamfast before him. So I should rather feel like one of the Gamgees. On the other hand it‘s my garden and not someone else‘s. I guess … #hobbit #tolkien #garden

Around the year 1050 of the Third Age, #Sauron bought a house in Greenwood the Great and renamed it #Mirkwood. This habit of dictatorial overlords moving in and renaming geographical areas just because they feel like it is still practiced today. Unfortunately, we're severely lacking in wizards.

For the 1st time in two years I watched the 1st episode of TROP and I must say clearly: What a great exposition! Starting with the visually stunning prologue the main plot thickens in four correlating threads till it resolves with a big bang in the final sequence. This is good writing. #trop #lotr

I just stumbled upon the fact that in an early draft Tolkien named the Elven Rings Kemen, Ëar and Menel. Of course it may be a pure coincidence that in „The Rings of Power“ Pharazôn‘s son is named Kemen and Isildur‘s daughter Earien, but what if the names are allusions to things to come? #tRoP #LotR
