Having a background in both business management and clinical medicine is such a weird combo. After combing through the billing practices of my new clinic for a month now, I've run across SO many great services we provide that just...aren't being billed for, for no discernible reason whatsoever.

Just booked our tickets to Ireland. If things look good over there I might not come back 😂

My beloved celestial blue Mazda3 hatchback is on the verge of coding. Do I go ahead and buy a new car before the 25% tariffs hit or roll the dice on it surviving and trying to save money in the event that my Fed employee husband gets shitcanned for zero logical reason? Are we great again yet? 🙃

Reminder that 'savvy' political fact checkers spent the entire campaign telling voters that Trump was not going to do the things he obviously was going to do.

A friend drove two hours today for her breast cancer chemotherapy only to learn it was canceled due to NIH cuts. Clinical trial ended midstream. No treatment, no restart, no plan, no information. Her bro-in-law's chemo was also canceled.

New data indicates that the use of structural heart interventions in patients with amyloidosis is on the rise. More research is needed to identify the optimal treatment approach for this growing population. www.structuralheartjournal.org/article/S247... #CardioSky #MedSky #CardioResearch

In today's episode of "Why Do We Tolerate This Nightmarish Healthcare System, Seriously What In the Actual Fuck," watch me fill out a digital pre-authorization for rosuvastatin, a medication that costs less than a venti double shot macchiato at Starbucks.

Me, after an hour of new EMR training: Trainer: Okay, that's the basic gist of this new system! Me: Neat. How many patients am I seeing tomorrow? Trainer: We usually start with 3-5 on your first day solo, but you've got more. Me: How many more? Trainer: 17. Me: .... Trainer: ....

New job is going great! I'm totally basking in the culture of respect that seems to be ingrained in this organization. Admin leaves a bit to be desired, but you can't win em all. Overall: 8.5/10. 10/10 with rice.

Fighting with hospital administration should be an Olympic event.

Booked solid, but work a patient into clinic in order to be nice. BP on arrival: 70/38 😐

JFC. It’s out in the open now. Republicans want to cut Medicaid by at least $880 billion. The ENTIRE budget of Medicaid is $880 billion.

First week new job impressions: - Athena is great. Medhost is not. - Credentialing, as always, continues to suck. - Outpatient medicine is way more flexible than I thought it'd be. - I'm going to spend a million dollars a week at Bigfoot Little Donuts.

The Chiefs can still win if Mike Pence has the courage

I really just cannot overstate how fucking done I am. Civility is out the window. Oh, you wanna talk about how killing the Dept of Ed could be fine? Go fuck yourself. You think tariffs might be helpful? Go suckstart a shotgun. I'm serious, I'm bringin the pain to these conversations. Let's go.

The impact from these EOs have been devastating and immediate. This student, a refuge on TPS from Venezuela, has lost their legal status and will likely have to abandon their collegiate aspirations. What about the nursing shortage?! Are we really going to deport legal, documented nursing students?

Seriously considering attempting to take a travel nurse contract to Canada as a first step on a path towards permanent residency. I cannot stomach all the cruelty that has occurred in the last nine days. Dear God...

As doctors and nurses, it is our moral duty to care for every person who walks through the door & needs medical help. Allowing ICE to raid hospitals & clinics is immoral and will lead to needless suffering & death. Reading this made me cry...what nation have we become? #medsky

Pin this, save it, we’ll need it. “When a prison camp opens in your town…when a DREAMer is disappeared from your classroom…when the President destroys what’s left of the Constitution…They will all say they didn’t know this was coming. And I want the American people to know that they did.” AOC 🔥🎯

Surprise! I'm in NYC! Got invited to an internal event at Reddit HQ to be on a panel of moderators. We toured the office and I've eaten half my bodyweight in fresh pasta. Looking forward to the actual event tomorrow!

More credentialing woes. It's going to be at least another week before I can start my new job. I've now been home for a month. I'm baking banana bread. I'm making candles. I haven't worn shoes in weeks. Suddenly I have opinions about sourdough starters. Guys help, I'm going domestic #MedSky

Senator: I’ll speak in his defense because to err is human. Who among us hasn’t shown up drunk to work? Who here hasn’t cheated on their wife? Hegseth: Please stop helping me Senator: Who hasn’t taken off their pants at the zoo?

My MIL gifted me a pink princess philodendron. Through the mail. In the middle of an ice storm. Is there any point in trying to cut it back to bare roots and save it? Help me out #Plantsky

There IS one benefit of being stuck in credentialing hell and in between jobs. For the first time in almost 15 years, I didn't have to sleep at the hospital because 2" of snow is the end of the world here in the South. First proper snow day I've had since high school!

Starting to notice the trend of travel nurse contract pay creeping up again. It's up $800-$1,000 more per week versus last year. Not sure what's driving the change, but considering the concern of avian flu it doesn't bode well for any of us at the moment #nursesky

Been growing this monstera adansonii albo out from a single rootless node for several months now. It's finally starting to really take off and I can't wait to grow it on a pole. Go lil buddy go!
