Democrats opposed S. 62 and fought to change its most harmful provisions. Republicans voted down nearly all of our amendments, including those to:
- ban discrimination in admissions
- ensure adequate funding for students in rural areas
- require financial transparency

We believe that public money belongs in public schools. Just last year, the state Supreme Court agreed with us, ruling that vouchers are unconstitutional. This fight will soon go back to the Court and we hope that it will again protect the 750,000 students who rely on public education in our state.

He is absolutely correct! I live on a small island on the SC coastline, I want our kids to be able to raise their kids and their children on our beautiful land.
