Don’t forget Labour have also issued secret legal orders demanding UK encryption is weakened, making the UK a prime target for hackers.

But populists can't be the only ones telling compelling stories.
There has to be a progressive narrative too, but you can't build credibility overnight.
Years of cravenness and timidity take their toll. A plague on all their houses. ENDS

They ducked council tax reform.
Ducked broad based tax increases
Duck social care reform.
Duck and cover at every opportunity because too frightened to launch a counter-argument.
Despite Johnson, Truss..all the madness. But still. /8

Labour's exactly the same on the 'reset' with the EU.
It tells voters they will 'tear down the barriers to trade' while sticking with the same barriers (no single market or customs union) that created Boris's barriers.

Labour are too weak to suggest any bold changes, including setting the case for SM membership with attendant responsibilities.
Instead we get freezing pensioners, starving disabled and ever increasing taxes on workers (but not the rich).

A vote 9 years ago is not perpetually binding.
Agree a deal can be done and more like decades.
People voted for change and instead got continuity-Tory, tepid weakness and ill-managed decline, courtesy of Labour. Little wonder Reform are surging, as are Greens and Lib Dem’s.

Labour are getting beatings because the public don't really believe they're making things less shit and, to a lesser extent, because they keep telling everybody things are shit and will stay shit for the foreseeable future.

The Tories keep getting beatings because the public believe they made things shit, refuse to accept they made things shit and now just talk about things irrelevant to their lives.

Most fundamentally, people don't like feeling like their country is shit and that their lives are being made difficult by everything being expensive, by nothing working, or by having to do things like dodge scams every other day.
