No matter what funding goes towards housing, education or social care, the Government’s plans to cut benefits for millions will only lead to more strain on all our public services. Abandon the cuts, tax the rich and fully fund our public services! #SpendingReview

Mental illnesses are real illnesses… real disabilities. Those calling them ā€œnormal emotionsā€ are both ignorant and dangerous. The stigma has to end.

Building Sizewell is a bad idea. At a cost of Ā£40bn in taxpayer money, it won’t even be ready for 15 years and even then it will only provide 7% of the electricity our country needs.

My first repost of the day. Absolutely spot on.

We really needed some peace and quiet among the beauties of nature. Lathkill Dale certainly delivered. There were many highlights along the walk, but the butterflies and the dozen or so hares running up and down the valley were top of the list.

I think it’s a bit offensive that transphobes think women are so inferior at sport.

At #PMQs Starmer opens by talking about the selfless dedication of unpaid carers... Yes – so stop these awful #PIP cuts then – as many dedicated carers will lose their Carer's Allowance as a result of these immoral cuts. #CarersWeek #WelfareCuts

If we understood the way of our beliefs and why we cling to them, one of the major causes of antagonism would disappear. —Krishnamurti

More funding for the NHS is always welcome. But this doesn't look like enough. And slashing local services which keep us healthy is a classic example of only treating symptoms, not the cause.

Alex Andreou in one sonic paragraph can swoop from genial to tormented then back to genial again. Guys got gears, OK! Talking of singular talents check out this šŸ”„ @quietriotpod.bsky.social with @zackpolanski.bsky.social Gotcha free Zone ! @sturdyalex.bsky.social @pimlicat.bsky.social

A lovely afternoon walk in the beautiful Lathkill Dale @peakdistrict.bsky.social Benny only goes for the biscuits. šŸ˜ŠšŸ’š

I welcome the government's decision to restore the winter fuel payment to 7.5 million pensioners, although it shouldn't have been taken away in the first place. We must learn lessons from this fiasco and halt plans to cut disability benefits before we make another huge mistake.

After a knackering weekend, I'm back on board. Hello. šŸ™šŸ’š

Labour’s 1.5m new home target is vital but we don’t need new planning laws to achieve it. Bats and newts are not the blockers - property developers are. There are 1.4m homes consented and waiting to be built in Britain right now - why? buff.ly/au9tsaY

The government’s new Planning and Infrastructure Bill could give businesses the green light to trash habitats and threaten wildlife. Say no to attacks on nature! If you agree – drop your MP a quick email via @friends_earth šŸ‘‡ action.friendsoftheearth.uk/target/urge-...

We managed to get a walk today in between the showers. We saw terns and swallows flying over the water. There was even a bit of fungi. @mrmoog.bsky.social

It’s Nature or No Nature! Steve Reed, we cheered when you said: ā€œWithout nature thriving, there can be no long-term food security.ā€ We couldn’t agree more…so with that in mind…

Ship collisions and noise are pushing whales to the brink–but there’s a simple solution. Slowing down ships could save thousands of whales and other marine life. Urge your leaders to commit to real ocean protection at the upcoming global summit! action.wemove.eu/sign/2024-6-...

šŸ¦‡ A huge thank you to all our fantastic volunteers on this Volunteers' Week! Volunteers are at the very heart of bat conservation in the UK - without their dedication and support, much of our work would not be possible. Thank you all.

Millions of people are worried about paying their rent, feeding their kids or losing vital disability benefits. If the government cared about people's security, it would reverse cruel cuts, end child poverty and pursue an agenda for peace. Let's fund welfare, not warfare.
