I don’t how anyone can tell the difference between a mob of 75k and 100k people spread over 10 blocks.

I guess my main thought on it is that people should protest in the way think is best. It isn’t predictable what will or won’t work, and it’s often surprising what end up working. I wouldn’t have advised standing in front of a tank, for example, and that changed world opinion

I understood what he wrote. I disagree with it. What you don’t understand is my point—he wouldn’t be making the same argument about strategy if it was Irish-Americans waving Irish flags. What the rest of us should be doing is joining them in waving Mexican flags to protest ICE.

We should all start waving Mexican flags in solidarity, as we did with Ukrainian flags 🇲🇽

Josh, I admire you and your writing, but I think you’re way off on this. If Irish-Americans were being hunted and deported they’d wave Irish flags as a symbol of cultural unity and strength. African-Americans who were cut off from their African roots waved flags from Africa, or created their own

Now fix the transit deficit, please!

There was a fantastic peak around 8:30, but unfortunately it receded by sunset.

@govpritzker.illinois.gov what about funding transit? Working families need regular bus and train service! The lack of funding in this budget will disrupt the lives of thousands of Illinois working families. The budget isn’t balanced if public transit is left with a $600 million deficit.

It’s not a success without transit funding! It’s a failure.

He never has, and if you knew him you’d never question it. You should reach out to him through his website about it. One of his best qualities is how responsive he is.

I agree! All I can say is that if you knew him, you wouldn’t question his commitment. You should reach out to him through his website.

He co-sponsored legislation to ban use of victims’ sexual orientation or gender identity, the "gay panic" defense, in murder cases. He sponsored the Youth Mental Health Act prohibiting conversion therapy for minors. He was a chief sponsor of legislation expanding hate crime protections to trans ppl
