As a black person, I'd have a default suspicion of Gen AI based on the fact its trained on data from the *past* developed almost entirely by people who, as a group, been indifferent at best and actively hostile at worst to black people.

The thing about teaching is that you very rarely have perfect students. If they were perfect they wouldn't need you to teach them at your level. At my level ECE I see teachers struggle a lot because they are focusing on the subject matter to the exclusion of the children 1/x

Oh so sorry I was using the crosswalk to get to my once every half hour bus. No no no I insist, you, in the A/C metal box with treats and a sound system able to move faster than most of humanity, should go first - regardless of whether or not the beg button granted me permission. It's my fault.

Hey! So after this weekend, I am out of work. If you need covers, sequentials, posters, anything drawn for you, please consider me! #comics #art #jobs

Saying you're worried about a protest escalating when the feds are blackbagging ppl off the street and firing tear gas and pepper spray at the community when they show up is a tell that you still prefer that to riotous uprising against the state

When it comes to the real aspirations to make cities better, your plans and vision statements can easily lie, but your city budget always tells the truth.

To keep up with the rising cost of materials, I'll be raising prices on my works on paper with my next release, mid-June. I still have a few pieces at my current pricing in my shop. Have a look-see in case there's a painting you might like! Works on paper: tishamark.com/product-cate... #art #bsnm

Another thing you can do for the queer artists and writers and so on whose work you admire this Pride month: go give their books etc solid star ratings on (sigh) sites like Amazon and Goodreads. Because people who hate the existence of that work are always gonna be punitively low-rating them,

I swear Concrete only shows up so that she can hiss at and then ignore her kids' dad

Or we could instead of fainting like maidens in a Georgian Novel We can do the being pushes America is famous for by playing people and taxing them and stop attaching to the narrative that nothing can change

THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST DAYS OF MY LIFE 🥹 Presenting the book cover of “I’m So Happy You’re Here: A Celebration of Library Joy,” written by myself and illustrated by my friend Lorraine Nam. Published by Random House Children’s Books 🐧💚 Preorder at bit.ly/ISHYH-Reveal 📖✨

And it’s super wild that we make sure to interview the boys from DOGE but not any of the women of color over 35 who were targeted Including the Asian woman who said they’d have to take her out by her elbows ( I’m not naming because at this point safety concerns)

Mask up y'all, word is this one's painful as fuck (plus all the other shit that comes with COVID)

Sure, Cuomo's bagel order is bad but you know what's worse? The fact that he resigned in disgrace after sexually harassing a dozen women, is still using taxpayer dollars to destroy them, and sent thousands of seniors to die in nursing homes during COVID and then covered it up.

I'm "cannot afford a parking meter" broke and trying something other than my GFM campaign to raise urgently needed funds for an NRP recertification, luxuries like food, and a much needed dose of whimsy to avoid impending birthday season sads. You can give all that joy for a $3 subscription

In case you haven’t read the report, here are the headings of the report’s conclusions into Andrew Cuomo’s behavior.

“If your mask works why do I need one?” We know two way masking works best. We know there are people with disabilities that are unable to mask. We know people may need to drink or take meds & need others protecting them. Also, if you mask you’re protecting your own health. Why not do that?

We asked people who lived in homeless encampments that were cleared out in city “sweeps” to write about what object was the hardest for them to lose. “They took my baby pictures and my moms obituaries,” a 29-year-old in California wrote.

I cannot stress enough, this is Trump making your kids tuition at *any* institution more expensive by scaring away international students who pay full-freight and thus subsidize US students' tuition. That's how Dems should attack: Trump wants college to be more expensive. Trump take college.

Imagine seeing 10s of thousands of people picketing Tesla for MONTHS and thinking... "we should def court the white supremacist Nazi that those people are protesting."

Currently binging Fiona Apple youtu.be/VG1VVFfOnYQ?...

Today someone told me I’m “wasting my life” by continuing to speak out about ableism, eugenics & healthcare access. The life that I had is over. My chronic illnesses have left me bed bound. Advocacy saved my life. It gave me purpose. It helps others. That will never be a waste.

In progress today. Cranes, cranes, and more cranes.

Hand sewing workshop set for June 8 in DeKalb

And a timely reminder that Reagan slashed federal jobs and that gave rise to a more extensive contractor class, with more unprotected workers and rich guys.

It’s June 3rd, and today the Tarrant County Commissioners Court is going to vote for 1 of 7 maps, which all racially gerrymander the County, packing communities of color into 1 Precinct to dilute their vote and ensure one party runs the county “for at least the next 10 to 20 years” #tarrantcounty

Happy World Bicycle Day.

This kind of clear, direct explanation of what’s happening is basic journalism and yet it’s surprising to hear it stated so forthrightly in this mealy-mouthed era.

Cuts have consequences, illustrated. As seen on TV 📺

Yet another example that so much tech is someone trying to recreate a mother/wife/girlfriend. I think I'd find this so much more compelling if any of these "mundane tasks" put the perspective of caregivers and carers first. So many of the most important things in life are very mundane.

Remember when I was saying climate change is an equity issue and loss of housing means through extreme weather events means trying to find new housing and we're in a housing shortage and we're in an affordable housing crisis? (Of course, this is not new, look at Katrina...)

1. Florida banned cities from lighting up bridges rainbow colors for Pride. So the people of Jacksonville did it themselves using flashlights and gels. They opened the drawbridge to block them. So they marched to a different bridge. The latest from S. Baum. Subscribe to support our journalism.
