The National Capital Commission, a Crown Corporation, so us, through the man-queen.

It was a classy power-move: "allow me to exercise my authority as G7 Chair and end this news conference." Canadian shade.

In Canada, it's minimum one-year parental leave, with parents splitting the time any way they wish.

Thank you. I needed that.

Check out the Nova Scotia killing rampage of 2020. Personal targets, but by a 'cop' in a patrol car. 23 killed.

Right. And 35% of eligible voters didn't vote at all. Honestly, numbers don't matter anymore: the US government is a threat. That's where we are now. Stats won't change it.

But we're not threatening your sovereignty. We know fascism when we see it. Do you really not see it?

It's not Canada. It's Facebook! fb blocks all news links in canada, following a pissing match between Zuckerberg and the cdn government 2 years ago.

This is awkward.

Right, but they're not asking for full party status, just enough access and resources to pay attention. It is a minority gov't after all. Those 7 votes are important.

I think what the NDP is asking for is fair and reasonable. My guess is they will get it.

Check the Official Residences Act. I believe the NCC (nat'l capital commission), has authority etc. He is leader of the party which happens to be the official opposition. There doesn't seem to be anything in the legislation that can stop him from living there. Weird.

That's so funny.

Exactly. You can be your party's nominated candidate. But, has that even happened yet?

He's a presumed candidate. I mean, ok, i guess, sure.

Canada here. It would be to everyone's benefit if the canada US autopact doesn't end up in shambles.

The CBC, along with a couple of political parties, might be top-heavy with consultants. But that's just a wild guess.

In april land crossings were down 35%, by air 20%. It all adds up.

This by-election as a forgone conclusion is so distasteful and discouraging, but maybe he finds himself in a big hole and this is just the House of Commons giving him a shovel.

Yes. Yes it does. But that man can't dance. He can however fuck all the way off. My money's on Carney.

All MPs who live more than 100 km from parliament hill get a generous housing allowance for their secondary residence. Official Opposition is seen as the "government in waiting."
comment in response to post
Does the Speaker have to sit on the government side? I don't think so. It's an open election. But, if she crosses the floor...

I'm not sure there are many safe seats anymore. I mean...Carleton!
