Good to hear! I think HCWs and family should be able to get it due to exposure risk. My doc will likely give me a script. I just have to find time to get in to see her. My PCP is in Arlington.

I checked Acme’s pharmacy and they said they couldn’t give it to me due to the new HHS guidelines. Sucks to have my choice to get vaxed gone.

I’d go with C., especially since what 3wishes does can be extended outside of the ICU.

This is insane!! I've done Pride many years -- since the 80s -- and Dupont Circle has never been closed off.

Anytime! I go through the same! The burnout is real.

I think this could happen almost anywhere, especially now that haters have been emboldened by nationalism. The cops need some edu in San Antonio though!

That’s great! My weird won-ton, egg drop, hot and sour concoction never fails me!

I have my days. I think we’re all weary. I feel yanked around, want to throw up my hands. Apathy is what they want, though. It’s hard to care so much about one’s country, social justice, other causes. You’re passionate abt these issues, have fought hard battles. Give yourself time.

I hear ya, Andrea! I also know as a Lesbian that changing hearts and minds takes time. I may not personally need their acceptance but younger gens do. Being with John Lewis was a real eye-opener for me re: civil rights and changing attitudes. I’ll take each “win.”

Often, there is beauty even in death. It’s the survivors and caregivers who so often bring it to light. Condolences to this family.

The place I grew up in 2 hrs north of you was also known as "Alabaster County" and law enforcement helped keep it 99% white for decades. Still mostly white. I was raised in a cop family, know how poc were talked about and treated. Sad. I am not sure it's much better.

Anyone who grew up in the 60s knows that you’re speaking truth! My god it was bad - even in northern states like Michigan. There were lots of good ppl fighting for equal rights. Seems many feel repeating bad history is ok now with TACO 2.0!

In my youth, we were all thrilled to get the Polio vax, MMR, etc. I can still recall us all lining up at a local school while dedicated public health nurses gave us our doses. I don't recall any deaths from them - on the contrary. No more paralyzed ppl from polio.

No, I did not make that choice for 13 yrs of my childhood. None of us do.
