lol your teens comment.
I’m more shocked someone would think you’re raising an incel because they’ve heard of the Tates. I would expect a lot of kids over 12 have heard of them. Like a lot.

In no way do I mean to come off as you’re failing, it is not an area I would venture into. Like, I spend at least 50% of my time seriously concerned that I’m failing. My original comment was more “we avoid the GI Joe toy demand”with this one trick. But, my kids are pretty feral.

Right! Friggin tv was a savior. Children shows to the rescue.

Only downside is the 7 yr old running around spinning, making sound effects with a good amount of spittle flying around; along with crazy hand, leg, and feet movements that has put their butt on the floor more than once. Good times really.

It’s really great. You can cover a whole host of important topics off the show with kids too. Sexism, racism, misogyny, violence, war, forced labor, peace, friendship, honor, trust, hatred, …, The show has great jumping off points for real important discussions.

My ASD/ADHD kid needs help understanding the world and now days all adults are scared and they want to know why. So, I placed them in front of the tv to watch Avatar: The Last Airbender. Now we can discuss what’s happening in relation to the show. TV can be useful.

We wish we could say no screen time. Kids came to enlightenment during the pandemic. No candy, I wish. They’re little people out in the world. I’m a celiac and they’re a disaster when they eat, so my hard rule is no outside cake, cookies, etc. that are not gluten free.

She went through years of that. When it came to streaming services she just said we’re paying for ad free and I have router level ad blocking.

Our kids are still young, but one thing that is true in our household is my wife’s childhood trauma from having a father who was in business and advertising and would spend hours lecturing her about what the commercial is doing and how it works on young kids and then spent time quizzing her.

Other parents ask us how we manage when our kids are asking for the latest hottest toys, and we can say we don’t have to deal with that. When asked how, we respond that our kids do not see commercials or ads.

My kids have never really seen commercials. And, that is an intentional manage what the kids consume in our house. When they saw a commercial one day, while traveling, we got stares and what was that from the 6 year old. The amount of pressure we get for “buy me this” is ridiculously low.

USA Christians want you to suffer to be closer to Jesus. I’m serious. It’s a big deal to them. As long as it is not them suffering, because they are close to god already. It’s the riff-raff that they are bringing to the light of Jesus.

Nothing says “we do not care about road safety one bit, and we we only want your money.” more than this. Just yesterday I was thinking all the weird color unmarked state patrol cars were the give us your money and fuck off message, but this way of ticketing is the winner by a mile.

In news of the weird, Trump is all mad at Walmart for raising prices and stating that it’s due to the trade war of USA shooting its own foot. Also, they kept their DEI initiatives in place. If you had asked me a year ago which of those companies would stand with and against Trump …

If a child is dropped off at a friends’ home and the home has an Amazon device… that device is absolutely tracking and archiving data on that child. It’s reprehensible.

Right! I miss the tech era where corporatists couldn’t figure out how to ruin the internet for monies. Instead, they figured out how to ruin everything for money. It sucks!

Sometimes people get the hero they need. I hope you make a dent in that head because you’re putting yourself out there for that. Thanks for fighting the good fight and stay safe, please.

Tourism is way down because foreigners now know they are not welcome; if they come they may be detained, kidnapped, and trafficked to a concentration camp. Tourism everywhere is down and it’s looking bleak. Cities and towns that heavily rely on tourism are in trouble.

I spent several years in screaming pain inside a car while doctors tried to treat me for everything but what the problem was, even mental health. I finally had to diagnose it myself. Then I had to find a surgeon who knew what they were doing.

There is a surgery for it. A good practitioner will do arthroscopic surgery. Some will repair cartilage if possible, others only shave the bone down. Best practice will be a surgeon who also repairs or removes the damaged cartilage. The only bone shaved group often feel it did nothing.
