And while I don’t think she’ll be dragged from the building and hit with a bolt gun, the likelihood of her actually getting SSDI dropped like a rock. Odds of research into her multiple overlapping conditions are nil. RFK etc. want ill people to die. They are wicked and evil.

My wife is profoundly disabled and takes the eugenic impulses of this administration both seriously and literally. Forget the fascistic impulses of calling troops on protestors - although she’s terrified about that as well - she is literally convinced the government is going to come to kill her.

part of the problem is that men like portnoy *think* they want more blunt talk, but their towering egos require everyone to walk on fucking eggshells around them because they throw a huge, embarrassing fit any time someone suggests maybe they should behave like an adult

Essentially it breaks down to “don’t wave the red flag at the bull” which can come from a place of being objectively pro-bull or from a place of genuine concern; not ready to say all who say it are useless, but it ignores the fact the bull is an animal that’s going to do what it wants.

it's all happening because Trump told people he'd make it happen
and enough of them said "cool"

I'm glad the byrne run got fully collected, but I'm especially sad if this truly is the end because I was looking to collect the Simonson Thor in MMW .... very sad.

this whole "bluesky people are too mean" shit is nonsense, the bleating of people who feel entitled to "muh followers" when they move from one media environment to another. Just utterly tiresome.

I mean Great Neck on long island is only five miles further from the Times building than the Santa Monica Pier is from downtown LA
but those are five very important miles!

I mean listen I come from Connecticut I’m no stranger to high property taxes
My parents moved post retirement because their 6/3 home was too large for them and the taxes too high
But this system is borked

yup. Prop 13 is a giant subsidy to commercial property owners, and every other detail surrounding it is the sugar to make the medicine go down.

I pay four times the property tax of my neighbor, for a functionally identical property. There's no way to make that rational, besides "I was here first fuck you I got mine"

the Pentagon stripping his name off that ship is one of the most petty and craven things off the Trump admin and that's saying a lot.

Soft-pedaling someone who distributed the world’s most infamous CSAM is not the journalistic flex you think it is. For shame.

There has to be a limit beyond which someone is lost to the Dems
Otherwise that whole “soulless party that doesn’t really want to win just keep some power” canard will be true.

Dem electeds have been pocket-humming Musk for years and all they got was *checks notes* Musk contributing the entire 1996 election cycle’s worth of spending to Donald Trump
