Americans pay more for Medicaid per head than the UK pays for the NHS. The NHS offers free treatment for everyone, it’s not perfect but it’s good, Medicaid treats almost no one in comparison. So where does the money go?

Nope, even he looks sane compared to your lot

In your potato covered bed, that needs to be on OF not here

I have entirely moved my UK home to be electric, removing a gas boiler, fire, oven, hob and 2 diesel cars. I think the levy should change as it rewards pollution, but if UK Gov go too far it will create a backlash. I think just evening out both fuels to 12% would be fair, but that will lose votes

You got here because you still have lead in your water

They just vote whichever way their bribes go.

Can’t be true, everyone tells me that it takes 8 hours to charge an EV, and you need to stand there waiting for it.

From the outside, it looks like most Americans are disgusting

I happened to mention that I thought 400kW would be enough for cars and 1MW for trucks. It was like I’d sacrificed a baby on the town hall steps. Just like with pixel count on cameras, some people always think more is better, faster is better and don’t really think.

I get that feedback when I spend time learning Spanish, at least one person says just use google translate

It’s not a solar set, it’s a glass fence 😜

Even her own party of corrupt, bigoted pile of wankstained piss filled shit tosspots couldn’t put up with her for a few weeks. Don’t give her airtime

Yep, the second law enforcement knew they were untouchable, straight to evil. Americans seem to think it will all be ok once Trump has gone, all Trump has done is exposed how terrible half of Americans are.

World coal use MAY have peaked in 2024.

You can’t do anything individually. Protesting at the weekend is useless. The only way to hurt the billionaire class is a general strike, strike and stay out until the government falls. Americans are useless at protests, learn from the French.

Completely normal, nothing to see here…

No thanks, we have it much better in the UK.

Americans, never known to pick up a history book.

Not for me, a second hand Id.3 would get you much further for your money, if you don’t mind not being “cool”

I have a houseplant that scores higher than that.

Here in the UK we have camera that measure you for dozens of miles.

I have every faith in adhesives, just no faith that the Tesla engineers were allowed to use the correct adhesive.

Excellent news. The 3 stages of EV anxiety are Range Anxiety Charger Anxiety Price Anxiety We’ve blasted through range and charger anxiety in the UK, the number of chargers and growth is shown below, but now we’re trying to get to the cheap ones, as prices vary from 25p to 95p kWh.

I live half the year in Spain, half in the UK. In the UK I’m rarely more than 20km from a fast charging hub, 6 x 150kW+ chargers, in fact my sat nav is programmed to only show stations with 6 or more chargers. Spain is years behind, and I actually have to plan my charges there if I’m doing 300km
comment in response to post
I have not idea what the charger situation is in Queensland, nor the driving hours rules, but he would probably be ok in most of Europe
comment in response to post
Here in Europeland driving hours are restricted and I’ve seen electric truckers with class 8 trucks do ok with 350kW chargers. It would be better for them to have 800kW but 1MW really isn’t needed even for them. If it’s easy to do, fair enough, but otherwise no need.

For the love of god, can we have an EV charging photo without some muppet holding the plug in the car?

One of the large solar farms close to my home was built on lower grade farmland, mono cultured farming. Part of the planning permission conditions was a requirement for a native wildflower planting area on site. Of course these flowers have self seeded and spread to the whole area.

The V4 Tesla charger can do 500kW if they put enough inverters in the cabinets. Ionity have a few 480kW rolling out too. My EV will do 175kW peak and will still be at 80kW at 90% full. I imagine that 400kW peak would be useful, but unless you’re one of those “road warriors” I doubt 1MW is needed.

Do you have the VW ID.7 over there? Much the same size it seems but also has an “estate / station wagon” size too.

Whilst I don’t need a car like this, I’m pleased it exists. Here in Europe we don’t need that sort of range, but I have no experience of Aus.

So is it on his own or with the help of Elon? Can you do something on your own with the help of someone, isn’t that doing something together?

No point expanding Medicare if you just let all the money be stolen by insurance and drug companies. The UK state pays less per head of population for a good system (with flaws) than the USA pays for an absolutely shocking system that covers barely anybody.

No one needs to launch missiles at USA, we’re just sat waiting whilst the USA destroys itself.

The main use of the EU now is to protect citizens and stand up to bullies. I can understand how the twunt in chief is upset. And we don’t care, unless we are laughing at him.

Until now we’ve been looking at £35k-£45k for a decent EV, with a few crap outliers such as a Citroen for £26k. But Panda, R5 and BYD dolphin have now arrived, I know for sure that the R5 has up to a six month waiting list in the UK.
