55, 2 dogs and a cat. Looking for peace and calm in the chaos. Rarely watch tv, refuse to read papers. Loathe the Royal Family. Sorry but I do! Don’t want them to be harmed, just be gone. Long for an Independent Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

There was a spike in Google searches for "oligarchy" today. People are waking up. 🍿

When following the headlines fills me with despair, it's comforting to cuddle with a family member who remains blissfully unconcerned about fascism. That would be Trixie (a/k/a Bat-Mite).

The King got a dirty secret : adultery, pedophile pals, and a crown that's more about cash than integrity 💸👑. How can we trust a monarch who prioritizes his own desires over the people's welfare? 🤔 It's time to abolish the monarchy and its outdated, privileged ways 👑↓

Abolish the Monarchy 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Stephen Flynn MP: "The collective punishment of the Palestinian people will not be forgotten by history... "All those who sat silent, who encouraged, and who armed the extremists in the Israeli government will be judged by history too". #DCUKParliament

Mick Lynch wants a progressive wealth tax with the richest paying the same as everyone else on PAYE, 47%. That would bring in hundred of billions, it is time for the richest to pay what everyone else has been paying their whole lives.

Fossil fuel companies

Elon Musk outraged by Rape Gangs but not so much by Billionaire Epstein Rape Islands. I wonder why?

Has Stephen Flynn joined Bluesky yet?

Even I’m at a loss for words www.thelondoneconomic.com/politics/sue...

Hi, I’m God. Bluesky is now over 26 MILLION users. Congrats, Bluesky!

This woman knows what she's talking about, get her elected.

The United States is the only developed country in the world without universal health coverage for all of its citizens - and YES that's absolutely shameful, especially for the most wealthy nation on the planet

“The Government should make building hundreds of thousands of council homes its defining purpose. No other policy, achievable within a Parliament, would have greater social and economic benefits” @andyburnham.bsky.social👏 www.theguardian.com/society/2024...

Good morning and Happy Saturday to everyone who agrees that it's time for EVERYONE to wake up to the hard, cold truth that the richest man on the planet does NOT give a fuck about us, he only cares about himself. Stop falling for his bullshit.

As I’ve said before, we need to make @bsky.app the biggest social media platform on the planet. We need to do it with speed & we need to do it with urgency & then we need to use it with truth & justice to send Elon Musk packing www.theguardian.com/world/2024/d...

Just for Skeets and Giggles is out! Have a great weekend and a happy new year! open.substack.com/pub/statusku...

With senior Tories now calling for a policy to leave the ECHR here is a reminder of why joining Russia and Belarus as the only European countries outside the ECHR is a very bad idea

I came onto Bluesky an hour ago, and the first two things I saw were posts providing useful context for understanding the imposition of martial law in South Korea—the exact kind of thing that Twitter used to be so useful for in a developing crisis.

I just dipped into X and I’m so glad I’m here. My timeline was full of people I don’t follow and it was either sad, bad, angry, car crashes, Trump supporters and royalists oh and Elon over and over again. It’s now so lovely to find a timeline full of book lovers and lovely pictures of cats and dog.❤️

Time for another #ScottishBookWeek review! Today’s book is The Salt Flats by Rachelle Atalla and while Rachelle is Scottish the book is set in Bolivia. This is one of the best books I’ve read all year so I’d highly recommend it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Snow is falling in London (son sent us a video!) so thought you might like a reminder that here in Scotland we name the gritting machines and there’s a site that tracks where they all are! My favs are Gritty Gritty Bang Bang and Spready Mercury ☃️😂 #writingcommunity #scotland

Libraries, providing free information to everyone, are the bedrock of a free society. And a shoutout to all the librarians out there! Thank you for all you do!!! #ILoveLibraries

Now that I've fled Leon's site for bluer skies, I'm sure I'll be called an #Ex-X, but personally, I'll always consider myself a #TwitterQuitter.

It seems that the folks on Twitter have reached both a breaking point and a consensus. I will begin posting here. And looking for people to follow. Glory!

Did you know...? Crows have the largest brain to body ratio of any bird. Their brain to body ration is even bigger than humans. #wildlifephotography

Did you know that today marks the start of Book Week Scotland, an annual celebration of reading across the country! Here’s a stack of some amazing Scottish books, let me know if you’ve read any or what you’d add to the pile 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿💙📚

Hello Bluesky! Where are my beautiful bookish friends? I see quite a few have already found me, so please say hi if I haven't found you yet

Deactivated twitter & feel a little like I’ve burned a precious irreplaceable cache of ribbon bound postcards, Polaroids & lipstuck love letters. Albeit ones which where eventually interleaved with lashings of poison pen notes, live anthrax & dog’s muck but it still has heavied my heart to do it

Lots of people still pouring in it seems - yaaay and welcome 👋 If books are your thing, then you might find my bookish starter pack of use go.bsky.app/518dS5X

me watching Bluesky's user count grow by another million in a day hello and welcome to all 19M of you! 🥳

So I've been seeing a decent amount of posts from librarians in here. I read a crazy amount, but today, I finally went out and got a library card for the first time in decades, so thank you for the gentle nudge!
