It doesn’t matter. The only factor is that Haitians are persons of color, thus “other.”

I just have to wonder what the calculus was that led them to not take a stand. Cowardice is not a guiding principle if I remember correctly.

Our rally had a bipolar distribution-late Boomers/early X and Gen Z, with Millennials conspicuously absent, and seemed to be gender neutral. There was a large Pride activity that day which may have skewed the demographic.

Disagree with Chris’ take and example. GFS has been producing 10 day fantasycanes for years before these cuts.

They’re concerned with chemtrails. This from a state that declines to regulate emissions from plants along the Mississippi River that sicken entire populations.

Not releasing will allow them to hold the news cycle all weekend. She and the Newark mayor.

There seems to be a lot of unwarranted faith that she will actually be released.

Has she been released yet? Just because release was ordered does not mean the govt will comply.
Can’t believe I’m writing this in America.

Sure you're aware HOU is missing its MIC and some other leads, and LCH just had its MIC and 4 senior mets take early retirement. Not encouraging at all.

Since there will always be hurricanes somewhere whether there are forecasters or not, Palm Beach County seems a good place for one. 🤷♂️

NWS is under NOAA in Dept of Commerce, which was targeted by DOGE for cuts. Several senior mets took early retirement offer (5 at my local WFO); the remaining may be subject to summary cuts. They are not done.

Thank you for this. As a Louisianan, can confirm there are not enough paper towels in the world to clean up the mess the state and national GOP has made just in this state.

This forecast verified very well. Some folks need a lesson on probability. 60% prob of occurrence means 40% prob nonoccurence. That’s a pretty good chance of something not happening within 25 miles…appreciate all y’all do at SPC!

The track did deviate east of center, and stronger effects felt east of the track, which led some to believe a forecast miss, but center stayed within forecast cone. Overall a good forecast. It was sloppy as landfall though...
