First, if you know anything about SNAP, you might know that there are already work requirements (3 different kinds in fact!). So it's important to understand that GOP bills really are making things worse by adding more and more restrictive work requirements to SNAP plus new ones for Medicaid.

Looking at high quality studies, the results are strikingly consistent. SNAP work requirements: *do not improve labor market outcomes *do not improve earnings *clearly reduce access to SNAP Which is consistent with the broader body of evidence about how administrative burdens work!

The recurring theme of work requirements is that they hurt people who are working or looking for work. Worse, the requirements make it impossible for some workers, such as those in the service sector with irregular hours. From @lizananat.bsky.social www.hamiltonproject.org/publication/...

If you look at the list of Republicans that are most eager to create work requirements for federal assistance programs...it's not a group of people that has/had a lot of contact with the working class. It always cracks me up to hear the Republicans talk derisively of the elites.

The people who think those who rely on safety net programs are living high on the hog & choosing to not work so they can get 'free stuff' should have to live on the amount $ to qualify for those programs & try to feed themselves on $5/day for say, 6 months. Starting with all elected repugs.

The majority of people receiving SNAP are employed. The exceptions are children, some disabled people and some elders. This is just a pretext to cut people off.

Vought is a sociopath and a narcissist...adding Nazi to the list would be redundant. His daughter has cystic fibrosis and benefited from medical research and new therapies...and this same man is having Trump kill medical research, including cancer research for children. He is a monster...just evil.

Well said. His Project 2025 defines just how evil this guy is.

Follo up questions should have been: - will you guarantee? What is contact info for Americans who have questions or “accidentally” lose coverage? If they do lose coveragehow fast will coverage be restored?
comment in response to post
If no one loses coverage then how do they save any money? Beyond lying, it’s complete nonsense. Vought is a religious extremist. Think Handmaid’s Tale Commander, and he is trying to restructure our society as outlined in Project 2025.

Mike Johnson said that no one who "needs and deserves" Medicaid benefits will lose any coverage. But of course they're going to drop millions from Medicaid and claim that MILLIONS were committing fraud and deserved to be dropped from the system. Another lie, of course.
comment in response to post
Yeah. I already know young people who work jobs without health coverage, can’t figure out Medicaid requirements and can’t afford private insurance. So they go without health insurance. Making requirements harder for people will result in coverage loss. That’s a fact.

Russell Vought is just as much the devil as Stephen Miller. A requirement to work in this administration is be sociopath and lie with a straight face. These folks are all going straight to hell.

Since actual Mexican citizens aren’t as conservative as we had thought, I doubt US voters of Latin American descent are more conservative than actual Mexicans!

Maybe its dawning on Derpy that everything about his presidencies is about being a unwitting village idiot for the billionaire cabal. Derp thinks he's the smartest guy in any room, so this must burn, really burn.

Leo is a very dangerous evil elf. He is part of Opus Dei as well as the Heritage Foundation. He is an enemy of the State.

So if trump didn't pick the justices, trump was used. If trump did pick them, then he agrees that he made lousy choices. Either way makes trump look dumb and weak.
comment in response to post
Exactly! And that the Catholic Cabal that surrounds him is not the friendly supporters with undying loyalty for him. Surprise Herr Trump! Donny would benefit by reading (HAHAHA!) about the Opus Dei and how they basically wrote Project 2025 as the Guide for themselves, not the Orange Man.

Right, because the real estate crook who was convicted on 34 felony counts and raped women built an encyclopedic roster of American jurists, that he personally researched and evaluated using his very stable genius. How the hell did you THINK he chose any of them? Now really.

Omg, hysterical. trump finally finds out he was Leonard Leo’s puppet!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Leo’s been planning this for over 30 yrs, and 🌮 thought he was in control … 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Yep. He and his cohorts had been waiting for a charismatic, narcissistic ignoramus who would do their bidding and up popped Trump. 😆

Notice how the 2 true seditionists, Proud Boy J6 Alito and Tea Party "originalist" Thomas, were both nominated by a Bush.

Heritage Foundation, Opus Dei, and the billionaire cabal have been pulling strings behind the scenes since Reagan.

tRump has never been in charge. He responds to “suggestions” and then takes credit, fully believing he’s the decision maker. Hillary was right about him being a puppet, but it’s not just for Putin.
