Isn’t the underlying connective lore that there’s a malicious evil being who torments people by attacking their frame rate? Why do you hate the lore?

I don’t think Waffle needs an explanation about what Neoliberalism is, the people who rant about protestors being “corporate neoliberals” (???) are the ones who are confused.

It’s pretty straightforward

“corporate neoliberalism is just authoritarian white power capitol in a blue suit” is just a complete word salad, wtf is even going on here.

Yeah I’ve been replaying CS1 for the first time since playing CS3+, and I’m liking her a lot too.
Also, like, things from later in the series are feeling much better set-up in hindsight than I remembered. Game is pretty good!

It’s extremely revealing that his reaction to the protests getting a bigger crowd is “no that’s bad it needs to stay smaller/more exclusive.” Just doing the complete opposite of what it takes to build the bigger coalition required for having real political influence

“Write a headline that gets people angry enough to click the link” is, to our collective detriment, very effective.

I’m starting to come around to the idea that newspaper columnists in general suffer from “poasters madness” just from the high of having a large audience that reads their words every week or whatever, so maybe the job itself is a cognitohazard.

And people in news media in general tend to come from wealthy families, because there’s no money at the bottom so you have to be able to live on almost no direct income.
comment in response to

I honestly have no idea what’s up with the NYT in general, but newspapers are often money losing vanity projects run by billionaires who are already sympathetic to republicans.
comment in response to
post
Yeah, it's frustrating at times because the problem is not "this particular headline has this particular wording", or "this particular article has things I disagree with", it's "the NYT orchestrated anti-trans news stories to coincide with a barrage of anti-trans op-eds" and the like

It’s kind of appalling how much money Mark Metaburg has just lit on fire with absolutely nothing to show for it.

It also really needed follow-up in the next movie; it was probably intended to be a parallel to ESB (“I am your father”), and it needed a similar form of resolution where Rey had to find solace with who/what her parents actually were.

I’m trying to imagine the political fallout that would have occurred if Dems attempted to “Abolish ICE” while the public viewed them as too soft on immigration, and it’s not pretty.

Just tell them it’s actually French and should be spelled “Détroit.” That might confuse them enough to snap them out of it.

Yeah, it’s wild how much disinfo there is around cities. I remember my in-laws being concerned that all of Seattle fell into anarchy because of the CHAZ.

If all you’ve been doing is treating Tesla stock like a black box and buying when it’s gone down the previous day, then you’ve probably made a killing.
It’s degenerate gambling and the fundamentals make no sense, but I can see how some people would get into this mindset.

I am still very unhappy with the overall outcome and think it'll suck, but it'll hopefully suck less.
