Honestly, I don't know why anyone would think the business people exercise care during times of layoffs. When a company reduces headcount to (nominally) reduce costs, they are likely to do so on the most arbitrary or random justifications. Concern is always for shareholders, not workers.

If he was really open, there would be nothing to leak. You honestly can't have it both ways. Businesses often have information that they cannot be open about. Own it. But don't pretend to be open and then complain when people openly discuss what you say.

He got to make movies and TVs for decades because he started decades ago. The modern film industry environment is considerably different than it was in the 1970s or even the 1990s when I became part of it.
