Go into @28yearslater.bsky.social expecting the first of a trilogy with Boyle doing his Walking Dead/The Last of Us rather than expecting a direct sequel. I loved it. The best of the trilogy. Negative takes I have seen expected something different and are hanging that on the movie which is unfair

I think @sheaserrano.bsky.social would like The Split @tcmtv.bsky.social

#TheHotRock @tcmtv.bsky.social Good heist flick. Shocked it has not been remade. Bill Goldman adapting Westlake. How could it not be good? It is.

Like Hiddleston but Sam Rockwell 20 years ago would have owned #TheLifeOfChuck.

#TheLifeOfChuck is great. Glad I saw it on Father's Day.

#28WeeksLater #Hulu The opening sequence is like horror Force Majeure.

Halfway through #NeverFlinch. Why do I feel Iike @stephenking.bsky.social is a fan of Hacks? Digging the book thus far.

#STRAW @netflix.com - Tyler Perry's Falling Down

#FreakyTales - would like to see a string of these movies where a different writer/director picks a particular year and place (preferably their hometown when they were growing up) and do an interconnected anthology mash up of all their favorite pop culture of their youth. Fun flick.

The Gauntlet (TCM) I remember it vaguely on CBS Sunday Night Movie when I was 8. Saw Cruise & McQuarrie may do remake. Movie good not great but great for remake potential. Good premise, mostly forgotten. Don't remake classics remake good premises that are forgotten.

Generation X label was first popularized in 1991 by Douglas Coupland. I was 15. Now kids who aren't even born are assigned a generational moniker and all the baggage that goes with it. Not sure that is fair. Also proud to be part of Gen X.

#Mobland Excellent first season. Hardy rules. Brosnan and Mirren absolutely savoring playing very bad (but also funny) people. Where is that season 2 announcement @paramountplusbr.bsky.social ?

#MakePeaceorDie @pbs.org is a raw but brilliant documentary about grief and loss but also healing. Mandatory viewing for Veteran's Day or Memorial Day. Best doc I have seen in a while.

A thread on movie recommendation scales. -The thumbs will never be surpassed. Simple but limiting but the discussions every week added the context. -No scales. Pretentious and not for me. I like a quick reference before reading full review. -Letter grades. I do miss getting EW in the mail 🧡

#BringHerBack. Solid follow up to #TalkToMe. These guys have chops. It will stick with you, but not sure I want to revisit any time soon. Glad I saw at theatre.

#TheRehearsal will be studied for years to come. Fielder makes the most thought provoking comedy of this generation. Interesting juxtaposition with Tim Robinson whose #TheFrienship I saw on the same day as The Rehearsal's S2 finale. I like them both but Fielder is another level.

#Friendship Tim Robinson's I Love You, Man but reminded me of Step Brothers too and I hope it is as rewatchable because I liked it. Skits held together by thread bare plot but I am not complaining. Liked it a lot and unlike most comedies held my interest thru the 3rd act.

#MissionImpossible8 seen all of these in theaters save 2 & 3. Really like the series and this is a good capper. Good for the stunts alone but not great. Like the others I am glad I saw in the theatre but, also like the others, unlikely to watch again at home.

The opening credits of #Duster on @maxhb.bsky.social are pretty damn cool.

Random wake up thought #1 - weird that known nice guy Henry Winkler has beef with other known nice guy Tom Hanks. nypost.com/2024/06/03/e...

thinking about when siskel and ebert were dicking off and riffing in-between takes and decided to roast the shit out of the protestants

Does any pay streaming service let you upcharge to buy a movie you rented so long as you buy before your first watch ends the rental price is credited against purchase price? They should.

Fielder School of Acting. #TheRehearsal

#Sinners was great. Believe the hype.
