I wonder if switch to animation was budget or creative choice. Regardless, they should put big budgets into live action like this rather than the drivel lately. More action in less than 90 min than most superhero fare that always confuse longer with better or more important.

Could have blasphemed and watched on 2x speed. I confess I have done it to avoid the cut off.

Favorite legal film of all time. I read Lumet wanted no bright colors in the film (thus the browns, grays, etc.) except for Newman's eyes.

-Fifth tier. Watch only if nothing else better available but you'll be fine if you don't ever see it.
-Sixth tier. Wish I hadn't invested and you may feel the same.
I have found this helps for recommending to others and assigning to any scale ... if I must. I go in always hoping for 1st & 2nd.

-First tier is I will buy this movie on physical media in the best format available.
-Second tier is go to theatre and see it and rewatch when it hits VOD.
-Third tier. Glad I saw in theatre but won't watch again soon.
-Fourth tier. Stream worthy only...🧵

Which is based on investment of time and $. I would love to see everything but alas that will never happen. So what I watch or recommend is based on whether I think it is worth the time and $ given those resources are not infinite...🧵

because the fewer the less trustworthy the score. Also politics factors in too much.
- I understand why grading a subjective art form is dumb but it's still fun and feeds the human needfor competition, cataloging, and categorizing. Which brings me to my personal preference ... 🧵

-Stars. I prefer 4 to 5 scale (sorry @letterboxd.social) but there are just 2 few 5 star movies. Much more 1 star unfortunately.
-Numbers. #IMDB is good indicator of popular taste. But similar to @thecinemascore.bsky.social in really gauging audience expectations. Watch for number of reviews ...🧵

Glad I saw in theater but won't be revisiting at home. I did like it.

Random wake up thought #2 - they are probably really trying to remake nostalgic coming of age flicks like Stand By Me, The Sandlot, My Girl, etc. but set in the 80s/90s.

I probably think about this more than I should. With the exception of Bond & maybe a few others, recent generations are the first I think being fed franchises started 50 years ago. I mean it's not like there were multiple films, shows, etc. featuring Roy Rogers and Howdy Doody in the 80/90s

Seen it twice. Left me cold the first time (no pun intended). Good change from original February title IMO. Much better the second time as I knew the vibe and expectations had been set. Will revisit again because loved Longlegs and liked The Monkey. Will follow Perkins' career for a long time.

Very true. First noticed him in the #TheNightOf and been a fan ever since.
