My heart grieves for the City of LA... For the peace protesters, law enforcement, those who are the targets of ice enforcement and yes, even those in the National guard. it must be horrid to stand there and point a gun at your fellow citizens in a fight you did not choose.

The so-called big beautiful bill is roughly a thousand pages long. War and Peace by Tolstoy is 1,093 pages. Do we really expect that all of the US Congress was able to read this bill in Time to vote at 1:00 in the morning? Most folks can't even get through war and Peace in a year's time.
