The lack of decent dpad options on PS5 is actively putting me off buying 2D games on the platform, going instead for the Switch. I wish they'd open the platform up more. Or just let me use a PS4 pad on PS5 games.

Sad to hear the news of Folk outsider, Michael Hurley, has passed away at 83. The first gig I went to with my Dad was to see him in a small venue with about 20 people there. Had to bike a couple of miles to get there! RIP.

My only wishes for the Switch 2 Direct is that Nintendo announce some original IP. New consoles are the perfect time for this - something that has new Nintendo characters. I also think they will show a lot less than I see speculated and do enough to outline launch and month or so afterwards.

I have just started playing Mario 3D World (up to world 3), and I am a bit shocked at how utterly average the whole thing is. Aside from rubbish gimmicks, nostalgia bait levels, awful cat suit mechanics it has a big problem with perspective and being able to accurately judging distance.

Spent some time this afternoon watching Ghostbusters Frozen Empire - a mediocre film and a terrible Ghostbusters film. Everyone is just playing themselves with the only believable character being the young girl. Even at the most basic level, the big villain is boring and unimpressive. Waste of time.
