I would have died in childbirth and so would my eldest if not for being in the 21st c and living near a hospital equipped to do emergency surgery. That's pretty natural, I suppose, since that's what childbirth (and maternal/child death) was like for millennia.

She spent her whole adult life distrustful of modern medicine and felt that our bodies knew "what was best" and could heal with just food. So hard to watch.

My beloved cousin died of stomach cancer at 50 after 6 mo of celery juice, a very expensive & useless stay at an Arizona "cancer clinic" & even more expensive medivac back to Canada. She had no interest in trying anything conventional and left 3 kids, husband and a very large extended family bereft.

Interesting how his base hasn't yet asked him to not deport their household staff, nannies and nail techs. Yet.

Pretty sad state of the kingdumb if they can only get one presenter. Things are getting thin. Maybe the rest have gotten paying jobs so they can catch up on their delinquent bills and save their homes. Unlikely, but wouldn't that be nice.

The ratio of news stories to actual numbers of trans athletes is reaching hysterical levels

My old neighbour had a smart door lock. Went away & asked me to water the plants. They incessantly "tested" the lock remotely to make sure it was locked so much so they drained the battery. Since it was a "smart" lock they didn't give me a key: I couldn't get in to water/check anything. Not smart.

How is it that these Guardsmen are not paid until they've been deployed for 30 days or whatever it is? In Canada, Reservists are paid from the start for any deployment.

She lost the password and the recovery address was one of the ones shut down by the provider for scamming, my guess

It's pretty clear that he has no idea how modern life really works. Zilch.

Wonder if she's going to be criticised for paying, or even removed by an admin

The vast majority of democracies in the world have figured out that deaths due to lack of medical care are a bad thing. And also bankruptcies due to medical costs.

I live in Canada and used to occasionally visit Florida. _EVEN I AM_ aware there's a hurricane season. Does that make me more competent to be the acting head of FEMA than this knucklehead?

They owe me about £75,000 and never made a single one of their scheduled repayments. My US books are all a sublicense of my Unbound deal, so all US royalties went to them, for them to take a cut and then deliver the rest to me. They collected 18 months from Penguin Random House and gave me $0.

There is also a fire restriction in the municipality that is immediately west of RM of Richmound, in Alberta. The cult lighting fires for fun is so dangerous. One spark could set off a grass fire.

I'm disappointed that she didn't say they'll be charged with artificial famine. This is one of the few times where her usual changes of creating artificial famine might be valid.

There's now a fire ban in the rural municipalities that are immediately north and east of RM of Richmound. It's only a matter of time now. Also the cult is likely to be complaining about wildfire smoke today so expect Grifty to issue a decree that smoke is illegal or is a conspiracy.
