I think you looked at it from the point of view of US defense, tech and energy companies who profited 'ugely from the GWOT, you'd see that there were some winners.

Are the deer in Sweden all related to Bullwinkle, or just this one?

It was late in Moscow, and daddy was sleeping, what else could he say?

There is no way in hell that is a cop. For one, if a cop has a reason to pull their weapon, they will almost certainly be making an arrest. They are not just gonna draw down for clout, and then retreat back to their shitty personal vehicle. This stuff needs to be investigated by the real cops.

It seems so, which is a shame. They should have the practical sensibility to see by now that Trump doesn't give a damn about them or anyone. If they hope he will pry open markets for them, before he chases away all their labor, I wonder if they have the reserves to wait for hell to freeze over.

America's becoming Donnie Fortnight's TACO truck. The specials change daily, sometimes hourly, it's never been inspected, everything costs too damn much, and is guaranteed to leave us in regret.

There's a metaphor in there somewhere.

I've read that some farmers are blaming the protests (ironically), and the news about ICE raids for scaring off the migrant farm workers they need to process their crops. It couldn't be the raids themselves🤷‍♂️ The May Purdue Ag barometer showed farmer optimism was the highest in 4 yrs...so go figure.

It's interesting to see Russia and Israel's puppets in the social media space, as well as our Congress, go at this from different sides. I'm not suggesting that anyone with an opinion is being remotely operated, but clearly some of the usual suspects are, and they're laughably predictable.

Her platform on that seems pretty well established. www.newsweek.com/republican-s...

Her idea of true leadership is doing whatever Trump tells her to do. A real portrait in courage that we can all look back on in a couple years, when we've squandered American lives and treasure in Iran, to build another failed state in the region.

They blasted through the intersection of ignorance and stupidity without looking both ways.

Russian asbestos manufacturers love Trump, and why wouldn't they? He's doing his best to make Russia great again... www.snopes.com/fact-check/r...

Sounds reasonably close enough, though they at least had real Communists lol (even if they weren't about to take over Kansas). I hadn't heard about the oil angle though, I thought it was due to the wounded French pride after WW2 and BS colonialism + the inherent resource grab of course.
comment in response to post
Good point, but I don't recall them having oil or imaginary nukes.

If only he did not have to descend through 250 years of democratic institutions on his way down.

Trump would not have chosen him if he were qualified. Anyone who'd be able to competently do the job, would have enough credibility to tell Trump when his ideas suck. Authoritarians need to be the smartest people in the room, so it's pretty easy to do the math on how this happened.

Did anyone let Chuck know that Biden is the former president?

Trump and his cabinet full of incompetent sycophants have taken down the guardrails, while the world is more dangerous than ever. He doesn't even read his daily briefings, and there is nobody to tell him what he doesn't want to hear.

We need a couch emoji here.

F MAGA, but nobody deserves to have to go to fight in an elective war based on lies. It's like we've learned nothing from the past 25 years.

The Senate added a provision that would force anyone trying to block the federal government in court to pay a massive upfront bond, no exceptions, no matter your income. Judges wouldn’t be allowed to lower or waive it, even if someone’s rights are being violated.

OK, but only for a minute.

This is Trump's America in 2025, where dudes in tactical gear and balaclavas zip tie and forcibly remove people from the halls of our courthouses, when they demand a warrant for their actions. If they can do this to one person here, they can do this to anyone.

It should be common sense that police should show ID, warrants when required, and not hide behind masks. The public needs to be easily able to recognize them as police. Allowing them to hide their identities, or act in ways that make people reasonably question their legitimacy is stupid and unsafe.

If both Johnny Walker and Jose Cuervo think it's a bad idea, then better check with Jack Daniels, just to make sure.

They'll end up in a museum exhibit as the "Lost Marbles of 2025", and will be used to help explain how we came to be lead by morons in this period of human history.

In a functional country they would be charged and prosecuted for this assault. Here, they run away, stonewall and deny, if they are sued, the city taxpayers pay for their legal support, and taxpayers pay the eventual settlements, while they just continue in their careers until retirement.

The Election Truth Alliance is a group of election experts and data analysts who are looking at the raw data (some down to the tabulator level) from the swing states. They are seeing a troubling pattern which indicates an algorithm at work: www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ru8S...

Trump is less capable of reflection than Dracula. But he does suck a lot more, so maybe that evens things out.

Yeah I get that, and when cops do a good job, they should be held up as an example of how to do things the right way. These guys handled it professionally. Throwing people to the ground, as a matter of course when there is the slightest provocation, is unprofessional, dangerous and stupid.

Any Democrat would have been better than Trump, but the establishment will not fix the problems people are pissed about. It's time to move on. We need leaders willing to fight for the change that will actually help people.

What happened to Padilla was disgusting, but these cops did the right thing. He had a gun on his belt, so taking him to the ground when they already had his arms and hands controlled would have been risky. They also kept it from escalating. They did a good job here.

"Don't interfere with the sidewalk", what a clown. They either never read the Constitution they swore to uphold, or their oath means nothing to them when it competes with their politics. This is the FIRST AMENDMENT they are interfering with! Guy clearly has no idea how to handle the horse either.

With the amount of privacy threats out there, it's not a bad idea to put the phone (and any credit cards) in a Faraday bag as well. Here's another handy feature for Android users - disable sensors with one click (also disables the camera): www.howtogeek.com/691619/how-t...
