It’s key never to forget that Unbound was led by people. It wasn’t Unbound but the people on its board who caused all the problems; they hide behind the brand but they are responsible. Their folly destroyed everything for everyone: the company, its brand, staff, authors, supporters and bookshops.

A major influence in my younger days! Beasley Street, Chicken Town, 36 Hours - plus added Invisible Girls; who could ask for more?

It is moot whether Unbound actually collapsed; something was seriously wrong in the state of Denmark here. Seeking advice, as you somewhat blandly put it, is hardly earth-shattering advice in the circumstances. Unbound’s demise exemplifies the very antithesis of the spirit of publishing.

Is the Snickelway what used to be the Tam O Shanter? I seem to recall it having a salmon (?) in the window for some reason.

I was an original supporter of this book! Here’s hoping it gets taken up.

In British publishing it is completely unacceptable practice and fundamentally dishonourable to go back on your word. I cannot see this publisher, my publisher, having a future now.

A moving image of movement past. The hardest journeys are the longest walked that often go unnoticed, but here at least for future minds is a glimpse of your experience.
