Exactly 3 years later to the day @mapleflynn.bsky.social and I got married! 11 years later I still play WoW, I still use this mount, and I think about her every time I take a sip of concentrated species euphoria! Thank you, darling πŸ’œ (cont)

Other players could then ride on your back and you could fly at full mounted speed. The recipe was hard to obtain, the ingredients were rare and expensive, and at the time it was a pretty rare sight in game. (cont)

It is now!

I'm gay and I prefer raw-dogging my drinks just like Timmy here. I do it because I like the thrill of ice clacking against my teeth. Unlike me, I am pretty sure that as a republican Timmy simply doesn't believe in using protection.

Thinks their progressive but they are actually a walking and talking menagerie of micro-aggressions.

Ulkresh sounds like the name of a so-cal surfer that has frosted tips, wears pukashell necklaces, and throws lots of hand signs that they don’t understand.

Change control is an incredibly important process for mitigating risk and increasing the success of well intentioned changes. I want FWA to succeed. I want FWA to be THE convention that others look to for the gold standard. This level of poor planning and communication is the antithesis of that.
comment in response to post
FWA has grown to considerable size in recent years. Organizational change control is more important for your convention than ever. Please consider dedicating time and resources to change control and adequate change communication. (cont)

I implore FWA leadership to postpone this change until next year. Proceed with the existing queuing system that your registered attendees are expecting. Announce the virtual queue during closing ceremonies and give your 2026 attendees plenty of time to prepare and provide feedback. (cont)
comment in response to post
The existing queuing system is flawed but functional. It is time tested by conventions MUCH larger than FWA. Most importantly it is what has been expected from your attendees, artists, and vendors that have been funding and planning for FWA 2025 over the past 358 days. (cont)

On the other hand, planning this change for this long and waiting to announce it until now is, to put it mildly, not exactly a best practice. If this were a mission critical pivot that had to happen immediately that would be one thing, but this is not that. (cont)

Making / announcing a change of this magnitude while giving your attendees no time or option to replan or refund their expenses is unethical. Part of me hopes that this change has been planned for a while to allow time for testing and preparation. (cont)

From a top-down perspective it may seem impossible for this change to be negatively impactful. I am sure FWA's leadership team made this decision in good faith, but that does not excuse the fundamental different between what attendees have paid for versus what they are going to get. (cont)
