Fellow creatives... how do you juggle the internal struggle of "don't do free work because that's a rabbit hole path" , but at the same time "these are friends that really could use some help and I really want to see them succeed" ?

Alrighty... crazy busy weeks of hell at work are over. Back to our usual programming. Starting off with rest, because you know, burnout is a real thing.

usiest time of the year at work. You know there'll be long days. You pull a couple long ones on your terms, render 120+ screens to get ahead. Finish templatizing the project for another 325. 200GB packaged and delivered 9 days ahead! They call: 85% of the in-venue screens are changing. I'm fine πŸ«₯

Motion Design folks: is it just me? Or does anyone else have to empty their memory and cache from After Effects several times a day? Honestly, some of my larger - full stadium takeovers, might have to even be a couple of times per hour. If it's just me, what am I doing that is causing this? πŸ€”

Just a reminder to go clean your screen. And your keyboard while you're at it. Yes, it feels like a brand new computer, doesn't it? You're welcome.

Organizing our new NAS server and found all my old edits in a (dusty) folder... I used to carry a camera on me 24/7 and edit a memory bank at the end of the year. Kind of a Vlog with my favorite memories. Dang, those are sweet to rewatch! Even teared up at a couple πŸ₯² Gotta start doing those again

Such a different vibe from this channel that I felt like I had to share it. Love the overall design and how cohesive everything looks, plus we get some new takes on Mograph in Blender! Fun! Honestly a lot of great tips and tuts here, so I can't recommend only one.

This trailer is SO good! Best course trailer I have seen since Pierrick's Rigging course. Totally worth a watch! Both the trailer and the course, obviously πŸ˜…

I don't use a ton of add-ons on my workflow, and hardly ever find one that is always on (other than node wrangler πŸ˜…). This one is different. Holy smokes how much easier and faster it is to light anything! @glebalexandrov.bsky.social 's overview video was incredibly helpful. Go check it out!

I once told myself I would not leave any projects unfinished... And while I still mean it, I hate that I have 6 or 7 concurrent personal projects that all sound and look appealing to me at the same level, all "in progress" and far from "done". πŸ₯΄

β¬– Needed some extra repetition to get used to Grease Pencil after finishing the Draw course from @cgcookie.bsky.social, so here we are... 3 quirky pet portraits. Like everyone else, we have the best dogs in the world! Had a lot of fun making these... ⚑️ ✨ 🫧

Motion Design Hotline for the rescue? For the life of me I can't get this to work (rough day). I don't know why every time I try to automate a text layer I get jumbled between comp space and layer space. πŸ₯΄ @kylasaurusrex.bsky.social @ecabrams.bsky.social Here's the scenario:

I've been thinking about making quirky portraits for our puppies for a while, but never got to it... But @cgcookie.bsky.social had a few Grease Pencil courses that I really wanted to play with, so I figured why not? It's not like Maia really have a say in it πŸ˜… Poor puppy... #b3d #greasepencil

I started learning Grease Pencil and when I saw this I couldn't help but think of you @oddernod.bsky.social . Have you put any of your comics in 3D yet? www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWgj...

I made a Blender Add-On that will save you a lot of time if you are a Motion Designer that works with a lot of empties (think Nulls πŸ˜‰) I'm submitting it as an extension so it's available for free. If it looks like it can be useful to you, keep an eye out for a link soon! youtu.be/a0ecYrAp1W4?...
