It is really really sinking in for me the degree to which LLMs are the ultimate expression of right wing anti-intellectualism. Its proponents are literally mocking the idea that anyone would ever want to learn anything, know anything, develop any actual skill, or have a thought of their own.

i can’t take the hypocrisy in so much western media coverage of israel’s bombing of iran and iran’s retaliation. israel can do whatever it wants and they’ll find a way to legitimize it, but iran is positioned as fundamentally evil and thus deserving of attack and bloodthirsty in its response.

In my experience using LLM tools (it's "encouraged" where I work), what stands out to me the most about it is that it never says "I don't know". It ALWAYS has an answer for everything, and just like humans that act like that, what it says is never trustworthy .

As a creative someone looking for a job, I can confirm this much, at least. Numerous job listings expect/demand AI use, and thus expect one worker to do the job of 3 or 4. Which shows a) how little they know about AI output, and b) how little they care about their final product.
