I agree! Buttermilk’s tang helps to balance the cloying sweetness of the syrup and in general just is more interesting to eat than something that’s not tangy. It also pairs well with jam. The baking soda plus the buttermilk gives more loft to the pancake too

No one is coming to save us. We cannot rely on some mythical hero. We are the hero or we die. Tax the rich into non-existence. Use those taxes to support societal good.

It is the only country in the world with America in its name. It is not the only country in the world with United States in its name however. Language is important but also if you’re referring to a country by using the word America, it can’t be understood to be anywhere else.
