The Greek poet Archilochus said "A fox knows many small things, but a hedgehog knows one big thing." But the only things in a hedgehog's world are like grass and bread and milk, so I'm not really sure what big things they can know about that.

Happy publication day to the Science Fiction Children's Classics Collection! I adapted most of these books and they are children's versions of crackers like War of the Worlds & Journey to the Centre of the Earth. Lovely illustrations by the brilliant Nick Moffat! www.books2door.com/products/the...

Schrödinger: It's an elegant thought experiment because until you open the box there is no way of knowing-- Box: Meow. Schrödinger: Fuck.

I wasn’t sure about this at first, but I think he’s going to make a great Richard Whitely.

People angry at Lyonne, but Lynch was in favour.. from Sight & Sound “I think it’s fantastic. I know a lot of people are afraid of it. I’m sure, like everything, they say it’ll be used for good or for bad. I think it’d be incredible as a tool for creativity and for machines to help creativity." 1/2

Schrödinger: It's a way of understanding quantum physics because you can't tell if... [BEAT] Schrödinger: Ok who ate all my lasagne?

Just booked my tickets to this! There ain't no party like a Jamie Smart party!

Hi! I'm the guy who finds software that works perfectly well and completely ruins it. You may remember my work on iTunes, Photoshop and Google. Hope you didn't like Outlook!

Schrödinger: So the cat is in a box with a vial of poison-- Charlie Brown: I preferred it when he just played the piano.

Weirdly this message has not gone down well on BlueSky, a social media platform fuelled almost exclusively by whining.

I have a story in this too!

That sounds like a fair deal, but you have to do it right away.

This Sci-Fi Classics Children's collection is out this week. I adapted most of these and there are crackers like War of the Worlds, A Princess of Mars & The Island of Doctor Moreau. The illustrations by Nick Moffat are fantastic! www.amazon.co.uk/Sci-Fi-Class...?

In the new Formula One movie Brad Pitt’s name should be Formula One and at the end he should say “Now I’ve Formula Won!”

JOHNNY: You can call me the Human Torch! SUE: I'm Invisible Girl! BEN: I'm a monster, so call me The Thing. REED: And I will be... Mister Fantastic! BARRISTA: Ok, you're going to have to slow down and repeat those one at a time.

I once had a job organising the timings of LBTQIA celebrations and Mark E Smith concerts. It’s easy because Pride comes before The Fall

People are mean about my homemade wine, but it’s just sour grapes.

Reminder that one of the best covers of any Bob Dylan song ever was put back on youtube a few years ago; www.youtube.com/watch?v=HOv7...

Asking for permission to lay eggs in your chest would kill the xenomorph.

UNBOUND AUTHORS: I’m speaking to a solicitor about our fine mess. If you have ANY correspondence with the company (beyond the “Dear Author” letters we all got) in 2024 about nonpayment or about the company’s financial stability, could I see it? I’m opening my DMs for this (don’t make me regret that)

Next event I’m doing is at Daunt Books in Summertown, Sat 14 June, which sounds very fun and chill and which, crucially, I do *not have to catch any trains for*. dauntbooks.co.uk/shop/events/...

I think it's a good example of our terrible political discourse that the fact that the Labour government is literally passing legislation right now strengthening EDI policy is relegated to a 2nd order issue in a story about a random campaign group saying the opposite.

The LEGO Simpsons Living Room! Very tempted to get this so I can make my own couch gags!

Saw Cat Power sings Dylan 66 at the Barbican tonight. Absolutely magical.
