I did feel the beginning did take a second to click for me but after relaxing into how cozy it is upfront it definitely starts picking up after the first 3-5 episodes

Ohh yeah definitely recommend the newer seasons if you haven’t seen those. They took a shift more towards the tone of the manga and it’s been so good!
