Imagine the Campaign Frame(s) either or both would come up with. Wowzers.

I would love to believe we would see them get to really cut loose and design things they couldn't with WotC/Hasbro holding a perpetual leash.

Yes. However, from what I gather, he had an extensive security background, and thus would know *exactly how* to impersonate one convincingly. We aren't "there" just yet.

Did you also not read Project 2025? This is the start, not the chance for an end.

Let us know how this latest strongly worded letter works out against fascists, will you?
comment in response to

Right, because fascists always step down willingly.

This is not aspirational futurism, this is a marketing ploy.

The bully only knows force. With all else they will struggle.
We are smarter than they are and there will always be more of Us than Them.
Use all that.

"Me" was the operative word in that slogan. It was never "Us".

Amazing! Agree that Khari and Barnacle are particularly awesome! Like Varian too!

I feel that too. I think distractions are good though. They help us take breaks from the ugly realities. Without that downtime, the constant marination leaves us at risk of being too ragged to function. Which in this sitch is exactly what they want, per project 2025. Exhaustion is their goal.
comment in response to

Yes, the real world is going to hell. It may seem weird to be talking gaming just now. Distractions are essential to helping me keep my wits functional for when its time to help. My rage would only make me a target.
Trying to treat all this like the planning stage of a Shadowrun.

Or even homebrew things like "flanking = advantage" without much issue.

Having just played some D&D the other night, its definitely a night and day experience. After playing DH, D&D felt more like sitting still and waiting for a turn in ways I didn't expect. I also think you could keep certain rules from D&D they may like without much problem.

I also found that mixing and matching enemies will help the encounters be at less risk of feeling boring or mechanized. The more abilities in the mix the better. Yeah you can do 2 bruisers, but they start to feel basic after a few rounds. Mix it up!

Define "good" a bit more? What are you looking for? High fantasy? Grimark? Cozy critterfolk?

-Teaching people the rules.
-Good storytellers having a fun time.
-Adorable VA work.

So true. They always love seeing "hippie skulls get cracked". Being in Authoritarian Fan Club just means "don't do it to me and everything is fine".

Wait til they get a load of model railroading prices. Keeyow have those changed over the years.

Yeah, they said on one of the streams they planned on having a homebrew section for tinkering, but had to cut it for weight reasons, so it will be along shortly as a supplement (Free I think they said?)
That'll really supercharge the homebrew action already happening.
comment in response to

Yeah, I don't think it breaks anything to tinker with that part of the system to suit the table's preferences.

I know, I know. The costumes are expensive and no one wants their creation smelling like tear gas. But the symbolism would be powerful. A line of Caps, Iron Men, Supermen staring down ICE? Next to Jedi cosplayers? Rebels? I'm a weirdo, but why else have we been telling ourselves these tales?
comment in response to
post
The Marvel Endgame soundtrack for the portal scene might not go amiss either. Cosplay super heroes lining up against them, not saying a damn word the whole time might be highly symbolic too.
comment in response to
post
Klingon cosplay might be appropriate too. ICE has no honor. Highly symbolic to have them turn their back on ICE as one. Maybe not quite what the moment calls for, but another symbols speak louder than words.

Everything is okay when they do it. Double standards the only ones they have.

-Survival type checks (having to reply only ones self)
-Perception type checks (observing others)
-Hunting type events (hunting your own food)
-Skulking in shadows/stalking others (batman style)
Caveat: Has to be alone to get the use of the experience.

I could totally see each player having a spotlight token that you flip once you've gone. Accessories and special tokens seem like the potential new hotness for Etsy shops.

Bullies only know more bullying. That leaves a host of vulnerabilities, but carries big risks too.
