The Attorney General is so unserious. If you’re a prosecutor who is serious about obtaining a conviction, you don’t go on Fox and talk about the (alleged) facts of the case like this. Has Bondi read the Justice Manual? Has Bondi heard of pretrial publicity motions? How about bar ethics rules?

History, sadly repeats itself 😞

Not to state the obvious, but none of them were sent to a terrorist prison in El Salvador. They all had lawyers, indictment by grand jury, a trial or a guilty plea where a judge ensured it was knowing & voluntary & access to an appeals process. In other words, all the hallmarks of due process.

Yikes.

JUST IN: Judge finds 'probable cause' to hold U.S. in contempt over Alien Enemies Act deportations

Skipped the paperwork. Ignored the court order. Broke the law. Ignored the constitution. This ain’t immigration policy. This is straight-up defiance of the rule of law.

Says the guy whose charity was shut down by the state of New York for making illegal campaign contributions.

The court system is a coequal branch of government. If the administration isn’t going to follow their orders it’s time to hold some senior officials in contempt.

MIT following Harvard's lead here

Harvard has set an example for other higher-ed institutions - rejecting an unlawful and ham-handed attempt to stifle academic freedom, while taking steps to make sure students can benefit from an environment of intellectual inquiry, rigorous debate and mutual respect. Let’s hope others follow suit.

I agree. In a functioning democracy, we would already be in the midst of an impeachment trial.

Trump's official denouncement of former CISA head Chris Krebs is chilling in substance and utterly Stalinesque in tone. By threatening anyone who hires him, it aims to render Krebs effectively unemployable. 1/3

Compare the names of the plaintiffs who challenge government: often vulnerable people who are brave enough to face serious, personal risks to ensure the future is better for others... ...to the law firm lawyers whose literal job it is to stand and fight but who fold and flee.

Is there any way to import the list of people I am following on X, so I can follow them on BlueSky, or do I have to look them all up, one by one?

Markets woke up and realized that a 10% global tariff and 125% tariff on China is still going to devastate America’s economy.

Actually, there were plenty of stop signs that American voters had to blow through to give the Traitorous Mister Trump control of the federal government a second time after a four year interregnum. Systemic racism and sexism are just two of American democracy’s fatal flaws.

I’d argue that issuing EOs to direct the DOJ to investigate political enemies is crossing the rubicon.

Fake news, originating as satire published by the Dunning-Krueger Times.

Deporting people means a judge signs a final deportation order, and the person is returned to their own country. What we are doing is kidnapping a person off the street and paying for them to be held indefinitely in concentration camps outside US courts' jurisdiction. 100% deliberately extralegal.

McGovern: "How is any company supposed to forecast for their future, build a plant, hire workers, if they have no idea what the hell this president is gonna do in his next tweet? ... I need a neck brace to be able to get through all this."

never in history has the stock market rallied so hard because the president said he was going to reverse his own policy decision

Never fails

Rep. Steven Horsford to Greer: "So the trade representative hasn't spoken to the POTUS about a global reordering of trade, but yet he announced it on a tweet? WTF! Who is in charge? It looks like your boss just pulled the rug out from under you. There is no strategy ... is this market manipulation?"
