Right-wingers hate record keeping, especially when it pertains to their failures. All the metrics pertaining to quality of life have been in the toilet in red states for decades, and this is why they are so anxious to bring down a state like California, regardless of the impact on the country.

Stigmatizing cities has been a thing forever. They're full of everything bad and nothing good, according to the ignorant. Taken on a per-capita basis, numbers tell us that size doesn't matter anymore when it comes to having good and bad in any city. Some areas are better, some are worse. Thats it.

Since Newsom didn't ask specifically for the N. Guard to be sent in, Trump had no authority to send them. Padilla, being a Senator, one would assume that he knows what Trump did was illegal. Every Calif St. representative should be there fighting this and letting Newsom know they got his back.

Well, the republicans threw in the towel the first go-around with the convict, so we know they're useless. But what about the Dems, why are they not making noise about what is going on in D.C. We still have a media, and they should be talking to them and pointing out the laws he is breaking, daily.

Why the hell these law makers aren't showing up to these detention centers with bolt cutters is beyond me. Takes nothing to cut through a lock. It's no wonder the right always feel they have the upper hand on the Dems. Grow some and let these idiots know they don't have authority over you.

When protesters rioted in Portland back in 2020, the rioting occurred on one city block. Fox and right-wing media reported it as the whole city being on fire. With projection and optics, you can paint a picture to look any way you want. This is why an honest news media is so important.

Goes to show that the source of the information isn't as important as the fact that the information was read in the first place. Amazing the knowledge we find by reading books.

Great idea. People living in that area should take advantage of this.

People have flocked to Bluesky because they are free thinking, progressive minded people that don't require positive reinforcement of their beliefs 24 hrs. a day, unlike the Fox and X crowd. Free, independent thinking has always been a threat to the right. They thrive better in a propagandist world.

For those of us who grew up in that era it sure does. My family was just 7 miles from the Watts riots in 1965. Johnson used the National Guard to quell the violence. The difference this time, Trump will use them in California, but he didn't call them to D.C. on Jan6th to protect the Capital.

I sure don't remember Trump deploying the national guard to the capital on Jan 6th. In fact, he sat in front of a tv and cheered his insurrectionist on like a good coach would cheer on his team.

Always get a kick out of righties that try to pass themselves off as libertarian, as if that make their opinions more palatable or relevant. It doesn't.

This man has lived in a state dominated by hate for so much of his life, all you have to do is look in his eyes to see the effect it has taken on him. Empty. I think Terry Moran will come out fine from this. ABC, not so much.

Trump has an uncanny knack for releasing the best people that never add anything positive to society.

One thing is for sure; this country didn't send men and women to fight on foreign soil to defeat fascism, authoritarianism and communism, just to have a convicted felon that has never sacrificed anything, spit in their face.

Like to see Gavin stick to his guns on this. Americans have gotten no bang for their buck on the amount the feds take every year. All the money going in one direction has to stop, and this is a great time to start that change.

Always felt good about living in a country that people wanted to come to, regardless of the reason for leaving their own country. Never wanted to experience feeling I needed to leave my country for any reason. Those feelings and thoughts are being tested of late.

That is exactly what they did and framed it as "trickle-down economics". Biggest scam ever perpetrated on the American people. In the last 45 years, thousands of companies have left this country for cheap labor. And their reward, huge tax breaks so they can reinvest in more fictional jobs.

Growing up in the 1960s, during the summer, we were allowed to roam freely during the day, after dinner until dark, we were told to stay on our street. Most summer days we were gone until dinner. Thats the way it was. Helicoptering your kids was not a thing. We played, we got hurt, and we loved it.

Living in the so-called information age and having the illiteracy rates that we do in this country does not bode well for our political future, as more people like Trump, Green, Boebert will continue to enter politics and people of their same caliber will continue to vote for them. This is not good.

This blow-up was predictable from the beginning. Two highly aggressive, arrogant jerks that don't like being told how things are going to be, and both have to be king of the hill. They both used each other, and now they're done. Just another embarrassment for the country.

Hard to project yourself as a strong world leader when you are simultaneously melting down in front of the world over your separation from your right-hand man. Just another fiasco notched in Trumps belt that would have been avoided if a woman was in the White House. We need a big change.

I think the founders didn't think ignorance would get to this level in this country, but they did put laws in place to prevent people like the felon from gaining access to the W. House, contingent on the being enforced. They were not, and now we have an illegal squatter in the W. House.

If I was assigned to cover Alex Jones bankruptcy trial, I would feel like I was being punished to. It has to be very boring watching a man of such low character play the victim. Alex should be in prison, not in a courtroom.

Sounds like Elon is the devil Mike Lindell has been rattling on about manipulating the voting machines in the 2020 election. Maybe the felon will piss him off enough to make him give a full confession on how he did rig the last election. No way the felon got all 7 swing states on his own.

They might not have seen this level of ignorance becoming reality, but they still put safeguards into the constitution to prevent someone like the felon gaining access to the W. House. But that was contingent on the laws being enforced. They weren't and we have an illegal squatter in the W. House.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but it becomes a problem when the wording in that opinion incites civil unrest and violence, like the Felon and Jan 6th. Citizen or immigrant doesn't matter, as long as they stay in their own lane and just voice an opinion.

The Democrats need loud, energetic voices that drown out the right-wing echo chamber of lies and deceit. They need to make regular appearances on Fox, like Pete, to show the right they don't rule this country. And they need to call out the media on their overly complacent handling of the felon.

Young men have to have role models to look up to, and they have been in short supply for a long time. Teachers, scientist, doctor's, movie stars, sports figures, and even politicians used to be looked up to. Now most of these positions are scorned and distrusted. The negative effect shows.
