Father and geek. Definitely don't imagine myself as old as I am.
Loving Lego, Star Wars, Nintendo, tech, and science.
Took me far too long to write this, which explains a lot.

Loved SaberWulf (on the Speccy). I think I did finish it once - but might be dreaming that!
Lunar Jetman was also a favourite.
(Oh, and hello to another 'Ade'!)

We had a small lab of Archimedes at uni in the early 90's. I remember being pretty impressed with them

The Centre for Computing History is wonderful place, hidden away at the back of a random industrial estate!

This /is/ coming from somebody that had to call the Nintendo helpline to find the sword in Ocarina of Time in the late 90's, so not really a surprise

The older I get the *more* they get me in the feels - I guess parenthood does that to you.
I try to let my kids know it's OK to be emotionally invested in a story, although they probably think I'm weird

Well done! 'Eating mindfully' is a great phrase.
For me, it was mainly cutting out snacks, not having second-helpings, and no alcohol on school nights.
The weight loss was gradual, but I thinks that's all for the better.
Been trying to introduce more exercise - but finding the time is hard!

Yeah, there's some great music in that. I'm glad I've still got the WiiU plugged in to fire Wind Waker up occasionally.

As a recent-ish glasses wearer I can't understand how they get so dirty so quickly when I'm *really* trying to be careful. I blame my kids

How did you get a photo of the cables in my living room... and why did you unplug everything?

I remember being blown away (and very confused) by Captain Blood from Exxos

Maybe follow that by watching the first few minutes of Up, and then the 'Onesies' episode of Bluey. Both are almost impossible to rewatch (for me, at least)

It's refreshing to hear somebody talk about avoiding spoilers for The Hobbit! Must be great to hit it fresh. Not a fan of the Hobbit films, but OMG the LotR films are fantastic and much more accessible than the books if you're going to try them.

To be honest I think they found it a bit slow. I definitely got more from the experience. That said, they certainly absorbed the characters and would talk about Bilbo, Gandalf, and Gollum (of course) afterwards.

I've had the pleasure of reading this to both my girls, from the copy I read as a boy.

Had to go to a M&S Food store yesterday. It was the most civilised chaos I've ever experienced.

WiiU still plugged in and used often. Wind Waker HD particularly popular with my kids

I use my Switch most days. As a parent I find the ability to put the Switch to sleep instantly to deal with the latest drama invaluable!

I used to love/hate the Horace games on the Speccy. What even was Horace anyway?

I really don't like to criticise the person that made this, but that hurts my eyes so much. It's like a really bad Escher drawing.

Good luck getting back into it, congratulate yourself if you do, but don't be hard on yourself if you have the odd wobble.
