The filibuster cannot be used in the Senate on a reconciliation bill. The Senate parliamentarian decides if something in the bill is related to the budget or not, then Dems and Republicans based on norms, not law will respond appropriately in normal times. These are not normal times for the GOP.

If one is betting, they can easily bet that this Musk and Trump fight was the play all along and stage 1 of having Trump removed from office so JD Vance could become POTUS. This allows the tech bros to move forward with the Christian Right creating network states versus nation states/democracy.

I believe a town hall with audience participation is probably the best opportunity to ask @booker.senate.gov about his Kushner vote and receive a response. Why the Senator focuses on SNAP + Medicaid cuts in the trump budget bill is interesting because millions in America do not care about the poor.

Winning in red states today and in 2026 will not last as you know Ken M if the DNC does not create brutally honest narratives about taco and Republicans using the People's Committee you promised but have not mentioned in months. Below is only one of many areas they could message regularly.

Jesus would want everyone to benefit, especially those with the least resources one can assume. It would be great to poll the US wealthy to determine if they are okay taking from the poor to make them more wealthy, especially when they have done well in recent years.
comment in response to post
Americans politicians rarely care about the poor so not sure focusing on Medicaid cuts is enough unless red state Senators do not want to hurt the poor in their states along with the closure of hospitals. Btw, the bottom 10% would see taxes increase. So much for not wanting to hurt the poor
comment in response to post
There is so much bad in the taco budget bill. Not sure why Medicaid is the one to focus on more. Do Americans care more about Medicaid mainly for the poor than the hit to Medicare, what about taco adding more to debt than any other POTUS, or the bill allowing taco to ignore judges orders, etc?

We all should ask new DNC leader @kenmartin.bsky.social where is the People's Committee he promised months ago to basically improve and turbocharge Democrats messaging. It is not simply about winning Special elections and the midterms which he know. Dems must create brutally honest GOP narratives.
comment in response to post
While Elon's 15 minutes are indeed over, he is probably and sadly the best choice to derail the taco budget bill. His take on the bill is capturing headlines unlike the People's Committee (project closeout?) which DNC leader @kenmartin.bsky.social promised months ago for messaging against the GOP.

I wanted to second the Thank you JC. Your work is appreciated and really needed as you know. Unfortunately, too many of these characters, especially the ones in politics are too chicken, cowardly to try to win over the people with honest debates on what they really think and believe.
comment in response to post
"Trickle down is most of us won't get" possibly because the mainstream news media does not report on and Democrats and DNC leadership like @kenmartin.bsky.social will not start the People's Committee as mentioned months ago to message it.
comment in response to post
The taco pitch is almost always they will only target those that appear bad in the minds of others. The folks who millions generally feel little to no sympathy. This allows the policy to become accepted. Once accepted by millions, the truth is revealed when the policy is implemented but its too late
comment in response to post
@kenmartin.bsky.social talked about turbo charging the Dem messaging with the People's Committee months ago. He is now quiet on this new project. One has to wonder if he has decided or told to kill the project. If so, maybe it is time to step aside and let @benwikler.bsky.social lead the DNC.

Guess Americans will finally see taco's beautiful healthcare bill which was supposed to be better than the ACA (Obamacare) as well as going to be released 2 weeks ago many, many weeks ago. What a con and the media does not report it and millions of voters have either forgotten or are misinformed.
comment in response to post
Even if Dems win in 2026, it will be short-lived because leadership in the party refuses to change the false narratives amongst voters that the GOP is better on the economy than Democrats. This false narrative does not align with the data over the last several decades.
comment in response to post
All of your posts which are similar to your predecessor Jaime H will matter little if you as the DNC leader @kenmartin.bsky.social do not prioritize changing messaging w/the People's Committee on narratives about how American voters view the two parties and which one is better on economics.
comment in response to post
Republicans and their surrogates have been very effective at blaming Dems for almost everything wrong in the lives of these young men. Even when it means Dems support of folks historically marginalized. Dems have to create narratives about Republicans which are brutally honest. Messaging is the key

White America has not voted as a majority for a Dem candidate for President since 1964 which happens to be the year the Civil Rights Act was passed. There is clearly a connection between the passing of the law and the white American vote even for they are eating the dogs, felon, serial liar.
comment in response to post
If only all voters could view these stats of America compared to other countries and how it could do so much better and really is not exceptional across the board as millions incorrectly believe.
comment in response to post
Not only is it an awful headline. They posted it late Friday night obviously so they could state that they reported on the story while not having to admit they probably wanted the fewest eyeballs possible to see their post on taco's pardons.

This is a great topic for the People's Committee to message to the American People Ken M. Mike Johnson not allowing the Office of Congressional Conduct to operate for months is another great messaging topic for the People's Committee. Dems must create the narratives about Republicans for Americans
comment in response to post
When will we hear from the People's Committee @kenmartin.bsky.social as promised months ago so they can message to many more Americans than a BlueSky post is the million dollar question.

Brunson is a master iso baller, but he needs to improve on making his teammates better as well. Look at a player like Halliburton and his assist to turnover rates and rankings. Maybe a different coach and offensive scheming is required before Brunson can make it to another level in playmaking.

Makes one wonder how this compares to the other games to better understand why the Knicks are winning and this stat matters.

Dems and the GOP primary goal is to maintain the US elite's wealth and power. For Dems, this requires limiting progressive policies that would move the US toward social democracy like successful nordic countries. The GOP have it easier because their base requests almost nothing for themselves.
comment in response to post
Your response placing blame at the feet of Clinton is correct but Dems and Republicans worked together. This does not change the fact that Congress could limit or eliminate US companies benefiting for moving operations out of the US for cheaper labor in order to increase profits, donations.
comment in response to post
The US gov't could have disallowed business expenses outside of the US for manufacturing operations or they could have placed tariffs on those products early on or taxed those operations a higher rate. It is a matter of stating that paying Americans more for the same work was the way forward.
comment in response to post
The US government provided tax benefits to companies that shipped jobs to other countries when building operations in those countries, specifically for cheaper labor. These lower labor costs in other countries along with union busting in the US are two main reasons Americans elected trump.

The MAGA tax plan also includes a tax increase of about $700 annually for those earning between 17k and $51k. Earning less than 17k would mean paying about $1k more in taxes annually.

The best way to build a coalition is to make factual, truthful messaging as close to perfect as possible while reaching the vast majority of Americans. Example -there is something wrong w/trump telling NC voters Biden and FEMA are not taking care of you after a hurricane then denying NC FEMA help.
comment in response to post
If only this post could reach the millions of NC voters to remind them of what is happening with FEMA in their state and who is responsible for the inaction and lack of funding today.

When we specifically do not know the exact reasons or intentions, many believe it is best to make sure others know this is possibly, probably the case while not trying to make it seem like we know for sure when we do not. In other words, lets not pretend to be mind readers or there is only 1 option.

The GOP are willing to risk losing the midterms for their disaster in governing knowing it would be short term. The People's Committee which Ken Martin no longer mentions is the long term strategy play when it comes to messaging and finally changing voter narratives about Republicans.
comment in response to post
It appears @kenmartin.bsky.social means the GOP will lose the midterms in 2026 as a way to hold Republicans accountable instead of allowing his People's Committee project to start operating so Dems can try leveling the messaging playing field vs GOP and change narratives in the US about Republicans
comment in response to post
Voting for NJ based Kushner is not as important for @booker.senate.gov than telling the whole truth about the tax cut bill which cuts Medicaid as he mentioned but also cuts Medicare by approximately 50 to 75 billion a year because of sequestration according to R.I. @whitehouse.senate.gov
comment in response to post
Someone needs to research, list and market Trump 47. This would be a listing of 47 statements by trump on what he would do when POTUS that never happened.
comment in response to post
Tapper was on Morning Joe and danced around the question about was Biden able to do the job of the POTUS because he knew that the numbers do not lie. Biden was effective in bringing America out of covid and accomplished much more for Americans than trump.
comment in response to post
Where is DNC Leader @kenmartin.bsky.social and his People's Committee is the question. Dems need better messaging as we all have known for decades. Hopefully, it was not killed by the centrist leaders in the Dem party or centrist big donors.
comment in response to post
Cutting Medicaid also means cuts to Medicare because of how the two are connected and this should be messaged as well as cuts to Food Stamps.
comment in response to post
DNC leader Ken Martin talked about the People's Committee to turbocharge messaging for the Dems and against trump and the GOP. He is now silent on this project and hopefully he is not waiting for the tax bill to become law first or centrist leaders, donors killed it.
