I recently lost two doggies within 6 months of each other. It’s a very hard loss when you lose a cherished pet.

Ah, so your issue is with private foundations. Public foundations, like community foundations, are created for the sole purpose of helping their surrounding communities. I understand and agree with you on the issues with private foundations.

Creating a perpetual endowment that will produce income to grant to other non-profits isn’t just hoarding wealth. It has a purpose and a mission. I’m not saying it’s a perfect system, but that is the idea behind endowments for foundations, be they private or public.

Churches still do a lot of good. They have food pantries for communities and still do much despite the bad press. Maybe they should have a tier of churches that can be taxed? Some of these newer churches are suspect.

Excellent article. This correlates to business anthropology, specifically as to technology. The biggest struggle with new technology is regulating and creating laws for it. It breaks down to evolution and adaptation.
