I can't hear you because I am too busy listening to the Yoshi's Story Menu Theme whilst I limit my kids to only 23 hour of Dungeon Encounters a day, check the latest news on exciting third party games for Switch 2, and listen to Princess Zelda tell me about irrigation in Hyrule whilst I play ToTK

that would have been sweet. the powers had so many little ways to combine and use them. (i don't think it would have helped the "it's just an MMO!" perception but those people were and still are deranged lol)

you wouldn't do 2-4 episodes per podcast episode? wikipedia says "out of these, 196 [episodes] are from the revived series, encompassing 163 stories over 15 series and various specials".

I find kdl hard to read because it has meaningful whitespace + no delimiters + implicit key-value pairs/lists. there's no difference between an object and a list, just nodes that contain other nodes, which are sometimes named and sometimes not. i know it's going for xml but... examples in follow-up

edn if i'm designing for a clojure audience, json5 if i'm designing for a general audience. toml is pretty simple but i like nesting, dhall is cool but too type-brained for config, kdl is hard to read, dune sexp isn't a real format, json and yaml have obvious problems, ini is too simple.

[...] Your post on the other hand is so shallow. It's not much better than if me writing about how "Vim editor is objectively better and if you disagree I will insult your mom". It's full of unnecessary personal attacks, not in a funny way either, it just doesn't add anything to the post. [...]

The only conclusions one could comfortably draw from *this article* are that Thomas and Kurt (the CEO): - Consider early-career engineers beneath them - Don't care about any use-case other than their own - Don't care about IP - Believe in building mediocre systems Plainly: What the fuck, you two?

"The pace of gender expression outstrips our ability to understand it, and that is the real trick of the imperial thought machine. It's easier to hide behind forty pronouns than a single biological fact."

the issue with such an approach is that i'm pretty good at git and have it ingrained enough that i "think" in git ideas and terms. when i tried to use jj last year, i found myself going "why am i using this? what's the surplus over git?" i expect that a lot has changed since march 2024, thus the ask

i've been known to quote from Jean-Paul Sartre's Programming in ANSI C, personally: “Every line of code is written without reason, maintained out of weakness, and deleted by chance.”
