how about just for cops?

No. With all due respect, this is because of mentally ill religious extremists who believe in the rapture. This has been decades in the making, it was all engineered, and Trump was just the guy crazy enough to give them what they wanted.

Worldwide trend, because they’re accessible. You can move through them with a walker or a cart - not so with the old style.

Successful transit is an international project, of so many people you'll never meet. It truly is #MovingForwardTogether 🚌⛽️⚡️💨

Thank you to the Canadians in Winnipeg who designed this bus for us. To the Germans who made the centre wheel motors, the Brits for the bus's drivetrain, and to our Region 9 FTA rep who understood the criticality of this corridor.

This is the heart and soul of what Metro has always stood for. I'm incredibly proud of my fellow Seattleites who had the vision a decade ago, and saw it through.

This was a comment on freaking Post Alley, in response to Joel Connelly taking a jab at the "Madison Street mess."

I am sympathetic to this, and I don’t hate her on a personal level. Yet, in times like these, when a leader fails to rise to the occasion, they need to step down and stop doing damage.

Public transit is a strategic resource. There are strategists in every military that know this, and will use it to further their objectives. Disobeying their requests is our duty.

That’s the very core of the issue, and why I feel she’s unfit to lead in these times. Getting local electeds to oppress their own populations is one of the oldest means of scaling authoritarian control. There simply aren’t enough sycophants to violently command a 2300-strong bus fleet.

I defer to the ops staff at agencies to adjust service around a disruption - be it for safety or operational reasons. My concern is *politically* motivated interference with transit, and the precedent that sets. Is it correct that the mayor personally ordered some of these shutdowns?

Karen Bass is personally helping Trump instate martial law over LA, and she lacks the situational awareness to realize it. She needs to go.

When so often I use Jarrett Walker’s famous “frequency is freedom” line, I use it because it is, in the most direct and literal sense, true. The more frequent the service, the greater your freedom to come and go. Taking away that frequency is taking away freedom of movement, for political reasons.

Boston had over 1m! No way it was just 5m...

I'd be interested in the results of this, if you publish them! I've been working with Metro supervisors here in King County in a series of resiliency conversations and this is the exact kind of feedback that would be valuable!

These committed cynics are irrelevant now. I’ve learned not to listen to them. 70k of us showed up today and I’m happy to have blocked traffic for them!

I get the sense that a lot of people see protesting as cringe because they don't understand what it accomplishes, and I get that... to them, I say: just go. Experience what it feels like to be part of a Very Large Crowd of your fellow citizens. That feeling has radical political implications.
