Trans. Escaped the US. A flightless bird. Aspiring kiwi - a kiwannabi, if you will. My pronouns (she/her) are load-bearing. There is only one good kind of fascist.💀

He tosses his guitar into the air and we never see it come down. Because when Prince tosses a guitar, that guitar *stays* tossed.

You're not weird. It's going to be okay. This is a tough time, but you'll get through it and there's a bright new day ahead for you, whatever happens next, you'll be better on the other side.

You should both be talking to a therapist if that's possible. There are a lot of very complicated feelings that come with this. My own marriage didn't survive - some do...but yeah, it's a tough issue to navigate.

It's not too late. The dose will have to be much higher and administered directly to the unwanted child in the Whitehouse, but it could still solve the problem...

People can be, and often are, trans AND autistic, and this BS is literally about pathologizing, stigmatizing, and removing support for either one.

When one looks at the church thru a historical lens - scandal, political interference, sexual abuse, wealth hoarding, gaudy architecture, backward morality, indifference to suffering... Trump really does seem like a natural choice.

Canada got a stay of execution - electing a central banker may be good for the moment, but this is not the start of some new golden age. Neoliberalism needs to die, and the world needs politicians that serve people instead of capital, or everyone continues this death march toward authoritarianism.

I mean, the dead guy notwithstanding - The Catholic church has hoarded wealth, meddled in politics, owned ostentatious buildings, hid countless scandals, and been a haven for sexual predators while selling BS to the sheep who would listen. Trump would fit in just fine.

I'm tolerant of people who are different skin colors, ethnicities, genders, gender identities, sexual orientations...Fuck, I can even be friends with people who like pineapple on pizza. Bigots can fuck all the way off though. I'm completely intolerant, and think they need a punch in the mouth.

What's struck me about Andor and SW in general was the fantasy notion of competent fascists. Fascism is rooted in loyalty above all other characteristics. Steeped in magical thinking, choosing mythical truth over reality. Fascists are dumb by definition. Scary to think of more capable versions.

You can't play Chess, Don. You don't have the cards.

Money in general is the root of our dysfunction - or more specifically, capital. Neoliberalism needs to end or fascism will continue to grow. Policies should serve people, not capital. Endless growth is not a goal unto itself, and we need to focus on sustainability and meeting the needs of people

Trump wanted a trade war, but he just doesn't have the cards, does he?
comment in response to post
He never should have won, but desperate voters are vulnerable voters. Stop engaging with his BS narratives about crime and immigration. Call him a liar and get back to talking about policy that serves people and not capital. People need healthcare, housing, food, living wage, & labor protections.

Great...now get the worthless establishment Dems in your party off their asses and doing more than just holding up signs. Pay attention to what AOC and Bernie are doing if you want to beat Trump. Every one of you needs to be talking about what they will do for the working class all day long.

Maybe MAGA's brand of Christianity shouldn't have the freedom to exist.
comment in response to post
That's because both parties work against the interests of the working class.
comment in response to post
We need to end the obsession with GDP and endless growth and focus on sustainability, climate, gross wealthy disparity, healthcare, housing, labor protections, living wages, food insecurity.
comment in response to post
Unless there is a true progressive movement pulling AWAY from the right, rather than centrists defending the status quo and creating policy that serves capital rather than people, demagogues and right-wing populists will continue to take hold. Desperate voters are vulnerable voters.
comment in response to post
Hard agree - that said...it's true that parlimentary systems offer better resistance to extremist politics, the worldwide rightward shift belies a deeper problem. That being neoliberalism. We're seeing the center collapse everywhere.

100% - it's all part of denazification. Trump will never serve a sentence long enough to atone. He should be sentenced fully for every single crime, posthumously if necessary, with the caveat that once his marshmallow-ass croaks, his goons must all serve out the remainder of his sentence.

They should have gotten Michelle Wolf back. She was so wonderfully inappropriate.

If you're confident about tripling down on the same strategy that put a fucking fascist in office twice, then I don't much give a shit what your opinion of me is. I don't care what MAGAts think of me either. You're both so steeped in magical thinking that you're unreachable.

I'm sure if Newsom runs on a platform of crucifying trans people in 2028, they will stop calling Dems radical leftists. Plus the 80 million working class voters who stayed home in 2024 will be activated because there's finally a Dem who is conservative enough to inspire them to get out and vote.
comment in response to post
How convenient that your explanation for the loss doesn't require them to change a damn thing. Keep courting that mythical MAGA moderate and see where it gets you. They lost to the stupidest, weakest candidate ever...twice. Maybe they just needed to be tougher on crimes and immigration though.

Attacks on gender & sexual minorities is the canary in the coal mine for rising fascism. The Nazis started there, the GOP started there over a decade ago, and the UK is heading down the same path. Unless you want to end up like the US, I suggest the Brits speak up.

THIS needs to be every Democrat's messaging every single day (while still resisting Trump's every move). Real progressivism will win. People voted for Trump because he promised them the world if they made him king. Dems told them "the stock market is up! GDP is up!" while people were struggling.

"Give me a billion dollars, and I'll give you guys a bunch of blank EO letterhead. Just write 'em up and I'll sign 'em." Staggering corruption...normalized and wiped from public consciousness by a 24hr news cycle.

True, but he also failed us by arrogantly refusing to step aside. Harris too, by failing to run a progressive campaign that spoke to the working class. The Dems are not our friends, because they paved the way for Trump to win...both times. Neoliberalism needs to die.

Come get me. EVERYONE is entitled to due process. Even MAGA Nazis will be tried for their crimes when they fail and collapse. And fascists ALWAYS fail, because they are definitionally losers and morons. It's a key attribute of the ideology. Incompetence is baked in.

No true Scotsman. The "Real" Christians to which you refer willfully ignore the parts of the Bible that run counter to their own morality, and in doing so become better people than the god they serve. Their faith is incidental to their goodness... but MAGAts use theirs to justify Nazi shit.
