We're pretty much doomed by friggin morons.
But at least the cannabis is cheap and dank.

No, no. You see that only applies when a Democrat is president.

Welp.
I didn't check in on all the Sunday shows but I'm pretty sure this is still accurate. Sadly.

Not an accident.
It's the cop closest to her, maybe 20ft away. He's been watching her report with a cameraman.
Cops are slobbering for any opportunity to abuse citizens, journalists or your grandma.
Zero accountability.
They can get away with it so they'll do it.
I am ashamed of my country.

In this Trump administration, law enforcement has become lawless. They now rule by force, threats, and intimidation, typical of a police state.
We voted for this.

Everybody knows there’s no consequence to any action taken by Trump or ice or by the police. They can deny access or deport anyone without due process or shoot commentators and nobody gets taken to jail. You may as well call it open warfare or a civil war because this ain’t America anymore

There is no one left to enforce laws at due level (federal). All key positions of control have been taken. This is stage 4 and spreading out unfortunately.

They did. It was live.
It was a smoke grenade or flash bang fired into the vehicle.
Driver got out and was looking for help. But none came.

The cops set the car on fire with flash-bangs.
It was live.

There are already numerous examples of pundits ( mostly right-wing) using this issue as excuses for attacking civilians.
Even Homan, the canned spam, is specifically pointing to this as evidence.
Yes, it's disingenuous. Yes, it's weaponized disinformation.
But I still agree with kinzinger on this.

Strategically we need to appeal to about 3% of irregular voters who don't pay close attention to the news.
I think denying the (unfortunate) reality of fighting the information war is a mistake.

Hopefully, we can disagree without describing it as racist fear mongering.
I think the optics are incredibly important. Seeing videos of ICE attacking a crowd waving US flags will play very differently than a crowd with flags of other countries.
I think this is a reasonable statement and strategy.

I am also with them and want this to be a successful movement.
An alternative would be tons of American flags, side-by-side with other flags.
We have been losing the optics. Ffs people still believe Haitians were eating pets.

Yes, & it's still going to ammunition in the disinformation war.
Nobody is saying "they can't" but rather that strategically it isn't wise.
Similar to "defund the police", a great idea to shift resources away from militarization & towards community support, that absolutely lost the propaganda war

Kinzinger is strategically correct.
Yes, of course it's legal and should be protected to wave whatever flag you want, just ask Alito.
But- this is an optics war. Trump/right-wing have used disinformation very successfully. Handing ammunition on a silver platter to Fox is what he is warning against

Can, but probably shouldn't.
This is an optics war as much as anything.
Kinzinger is strategically correct.

A car that the cops caught on fire when they shot a gas canister into it.

Well that's an overstatement.
But there's certainly a whole bunch of itchy trigger fingers and boys who have been trained to kill and not given the opportunity to fulfill the purpose of all their training.
Don't be naive.

Ask infantry vets about it. We remember how young and dumb and pumped up full of gung-ho stories we were. Which is great for charging a machine gun nest on Omaha Beach. Terrible for civilian unrest.

The guys arguing with JB are mostly vets speaking from our own experience.

I'd say it varies more by job (MOS).
Combat ready roles vs support roles.
Except for the Marines.
comment in response to

We want our front line infantry to be crazy enough to charge a machine gun nest. That's a good thing for combat.
Terrible for civilians in the streets of our cities.

Every Marine vet on here, including me, is saying this.
We were itching for any excuse to light someone up with impunity.

USMC Veteran here. A significant portion of the Marines I served with would open fire on American citizens if told to do so. Would some refuse? Absolutely, but you're insanely naive if you don't think a bunch of 18-22 year old kids wouldn't follow the orders they've been trained to accept.
comment in response to

Same. We were slobbering for any opportunity to fuck someone up. We didn't care who. It was pounded into us. Which was awesome if you needed some guys to charge a machine gun nest.
But not great if you wanted us to battle civilian unrest.

Most of us didn't see the light until after service. Often after a college education via the GI Bill.

Yes, because we served side by side with them.
Ask anyone who served infantry, in any branch.
The Marines ffs? Marine Corp infantry??

You must protect the citizens of your state from the federal government attack.
What is your plan to do that?

Looks like an entirely white unit.
How unlikely is that?

They know they will be pardoned.
They are not scared of a lawsuit.

Meh... I think you underestimate the desire of young men to fight.
When I was active duty as an 18yr old, we would have fought anyone for anything.
