Wonderful! Somehow it always feels special when you happen to chance upon a heron.

Wonderful! She's actually crossed with a jack russell terrier, believe it or not! Hence the rather short and stumpy legs! She's an absolute sweetheart though!!

'quilled nibs' - lovely! Yet again here, there's been the promise of rain but nothing to show for it.

Well, actually, that was helping a friend move his boat - hence the mammoth undertaking to try and get everything done in one day. Great fun, though, even though was suffering a bit this morning! However, a morning back down in the engine bay painting has eased the stiffness!

Love the word 'scuffler'! Seems very apt - 'to scoff a scuffler' 😀

They never fail to stop me in my tracks by their sheer perfection. The transition from that beautiful pink to creamy white is breathtaking - and it's repeated over and over again!!

They're beautiful, aren't they?
Yes, it's very toxic - often being described as one of the most deadly plants in Britain. Fortunately, the tabloids haven't caught on yet! Their doom laden apoplexies at Giant hogweed suggest they wouldn't do too well with this one!! 😅

Oh no! So sorry to hear about this. These things can be really painful and shake you up badly. Hope you're feeling your old self very soon.

What a great experience! These opportunities are getting so much rarer because of funding cuts in academia - btw, his supervisor is probably also looking up tourist attractions too, just a little more secretly!! 😁

How amazing is that?! In broad daylight too! I have only seen them in the gloaming of twilight.
