Helpfully, a south Mexican store has opened up near me recently and they sell dried up hibiscus calyx! So I can have more control over what goes into the recipe now, yay!
But wow, hibiscus tea is really good at staining things red.

I don't know how the drink lost its spiciness on its way to Mexico; it's not like the Mexican palate is a stranger to spicy citrus sweet, and the spiciness comes mainly from ginger. I kinda prefer the spicier west African recipes.

Turns out that in Jamaica the drink is called sorrel, with a slightly different spicier recipe. And then I found out that it's a thing in west Africa too, with slightly different recipes. It is bissap in Senegal, sobalo in Ghana, and zobo in Nigeria.

When I tried to replicate it after I moved away, there were no Mexican stores were I lived, but some stores did sell red zinger (hibiscus/ginger) tea so when I searched the web for recipes to make agua de jamaica from the red zinger teabags, I got curious about why it was called agua de jamaica

Yes, The Onion is fake news. Shame that reality is trying to muscle in on the jokes.
Well, the joke wouldn't be as humourous if it weren't partially true. That is how satire and parody work, unfortunately.

Goddamnit OccupyDemocrats is so fucking tone-deaf. But from the comments here, people who wear the label 'liberal' proudly are just fine with mass deportations, just as long as it is behind the scenes.
Conservatism won't be defeated with conservatism with a woke mustache.

It looks like it was an actual image that was posted to the OccupyDemocrats Facebook page yesterday but it has since been deleted. No idea if Karla Kingsley actually said this, though. Goddamn, why must centrists be so dense?

The above image would have been perfect for illustrating my point but alas, I have been blocked. Goddamn is it tone-deaf.

If that is the case, starving the idea of oxygen is a fool's errand. Starve it of anti-oxidants, let it fill its lungs, and watch it be consumed from the inside out.
If you want it to happen faster, use ozone.

from somewhere or someone else. That is when you have to assess it honestly. Is this really something that will turn into a sustained raging inferno? Or is it something that will quickly burn out when exposed to a higher concentration of oxygen and a harsher light?

But without that control oxygen consumes life instead. Without oxygen there's no fire, no explosions, no rust, at least not until nuclear forces get involved.
Sometimes you may be tempted to suppress an idea by ignoring it. But you are not starving it of oxygen if it can suck in attention

Honestly I am not familiar enough with smoking to differentiate those subtle differences (visually), but yes, a pipe wouldn't look strange on you.

Cigar maybe, if you aren't within smelling distance. But Christian? Nah.
Is this about someone who only knows you from across the internet? I wouldn't know what "cigar vibes" mean in that context.

Maybe @goldshawfarm.bsky.social has some recommendations if you are going to be filming on location at farms or farming/ranching operations?

Think this is more about dropping personal pronouns. This annoys.

The first dose is kinda shouting "This is a serious disease and you need to learn how to recognize and defeat it!" Unfortunately your immune system can commit lots of acts of friendly fire in the process. second dose is just a gentle reminder that the disease is still out there and to stay prepared.

Some vaccines against virus are like that. I recently had the HPV vaccine and it is also a two dose. The first made my joints hurt for about three weeks but my second didn't affect my joints at all. My guess is that the first dose gets the immune system to pay attention.
