I don't think ANYONE does ANYTHING without personally benefiting themself. Not even Mother Theresa, when she was alive. But money is only one of many ways to personally benefit yourself.

Mousetraps are cheap and effective. We live in the sticks. Our house is surrounded by a 7 acre lawn. Depending on the weather, quite a few can get in, They are all dispatched post-haste with a cheap trap and some peanut butter. No problem. Caught six in two days once.
